Logo art opinion

Had fun doing these three toons for logos. These are just the art part not the lettering/text.

One is for Dianapost, the second for Bikinidevil and the third for Lumberjack-Links ( Somebody call lumber-jack and tell him to pick up his toon please ).

Thanks! I really like Dianapost too. The way it was laid out was to look like the letter 'D' . I hope Terra who runs the site puts out coffee mugs cause I'ld buy one quick.

Same with Lumber Jack. I know a lotta truckers who'd want that one!

Thanks! For me the Bikindevil toon is historic. What happened is it wasn't supposed to look like that! I had done it in a color scheme and goofed up with paint shop pro and it came out that color. So I went to check Lou's website and lo and behold it matched his existing color scheme logo exactly!

Freakin' weird!

if you could add a wood texture to the lumberjack one i think that would complete it nicely. other than that they look great. :thumbsup

I really love the concepts behind the drawings. Did your clients tell you what they wanted or was it all you? :) Great job..

Cheers,
Matt

For the non-toon art, here's a fine art character sketch to a book about 'Atlantis' I started many years ago. My fast sketch/sports sketch style is what got me major league jobs outta high school. This sketch is of one of the main characters. Mind you it's to look as though she's under water. I may finish the book sometime next year if I get the chance. It's simple 2H pencil on Bristol Board. 10"x15"

Later I'll be doing prints/giclees on Ebay when my new art club is finished. That way people can get free prints with their monthly membership.

Matt, thanks! When it comes to matching what a client wants it can go several ways. Sometimes they have no idea and ask me and I pitch ideas to them. More often I've found that the adult webmasters are far more creative than the editors I'm used to working with in mainstream publishing. Some of you guys really know how to compose a logo from scratch and that makes it easier.

For example, with the 'dianapost' logo, it was just that name because the webmaster named it that. No other reason. Yet the Greek myth figure 'Diana' goddess of the hunt came to mind. So she uses a bow and instead of arrows I used tacks/pushpin thingies instead. Came out great and I'm really happy with it.

Cool! Now I have an audience to experiment on. Sword & Sorcery stuff I RULE at. I don't do it for comics because there are so many style rip off artists. Only would do it if I publish it myself. Taht's the fun stuff!
