I am in need of advice I think. I have reciently opened a free server. It has all the goodies, ftp etc... but I dont know the best way to advertise it. I have posted in the 'spam' categories at all of the boards, and advertised on a handfullof webmaster resource sites... I still havent seen the amounts of people that I would like to see signing up. The URL is in my 'signature' if you want to check it out. Perhaps there is something intregal that I have forgotten to include.....

Buy ads on Russian Submitter, Chameleon Submitter and The Hun's webmaster page among other places that you know webmasters actually read text and click banners.

whats the program, how do you make your money? banners? redirects?

Advertise on newbie boards.

I would certainly show webmasters what galleries look like with the banners, if I needed a free host Id like to know that I think.

Also your best feature must be the FTP, maybe you should make a bigger selling point of this?

Your resource page doesnt have many webmaster resources on it, there are far more out there who send traffic that you could list to get more traffic

Also one more thing. Webmasters who want a free host, just like those who want paid hosting, want to know that the host is going to be around in a few months time, I think your site lacks in a certain profesionalism that may give the impresion that its not as sta#eadfast as it maybe is.

just the headers and footers.... small 100 pixels.... 404s just go to goodgallerys.com which is only a small 'friendly' page with no popups or redirects etc....

all good points I will make a sample and put it up there...

any ideas on design that might make it appear more 'steadfast"?

I didn't see it on the ste so I'll ask here. (maybe I missed it)

What file extensions, file sizes are allowed?
ie: html, shtml, jpg, gif, avi, mpeg etc etc.

I should include it there I suppose. htm, html, jpg, gif, txt, js, css, and I just added shtml and php. I dont advertise it but I can also provide a MySQL database.

I have considered allowing mpgs and wmvs but smaller than like 250k.... I imagine that would make it more um... popular....

Well I sent emails to webmasters that posted gallerys to my TGPs I guess that is sorta spam.... Then again, posting this thread might be considered spam, really depends on how you want to look at it....
