question for Sammy4U

Hey Sammy...I was checking out your site...webmasters area...etc. Suddenly my computer popped up a message...

"System settings have changed, you must restart your computer for the new settings to take effect"

Any idea's on why this might have happened?

RudeBrett 02-20-2004 07:56 AM

B_Maverick,

This is the first that this has been reported to me. Many webmasters visit there every day so I don't believe there is a problem. Have you tried to see if the reults happen again. I'm sure it was just a one time glitch because there is nothing out of the ordinary that should cause that occourance. Please e-mail sammy @ sammy4u.com if the problem persitsts and we will get to the bottom of it.

Regards,
Brett

lol...Brett? As in Maverick? that's too funny.

Okay, Brett...I'm glad you responded so quickly. I have a healthy dose of paranoia when I see wierd stuff happen upon visiting sites....especially after "Pest Patrol" found several hundred nasty cookies on my computer.

I will check it out again. I liked what I saw on your site.

Hey Maverick, I see Brett already took care of your concern. :-)
Let me know if you need anything else.
Sammy

When I go there it pops up and asks me if I want to install Macro Flashplayer 7. Maybe your settings are to auto accept those updates?

Interesting being that we don't have any flash in our webmaster area. What page are you getting that prompt on.

That could be. I never thought of that. I don't normally mess with those settings, but this machine has been hosed so many times that it is certainly possible. That is why I use this one to surf with...lol. It's getting time for a hard drive rebuild anyhow.

Perhaps, since he said he was checking out your site, he entered through the main page and followed a webmaster link. The flash could have auto installed and then while looking at the webmasters area he gets a message to reboot to complete installation. Only legitimate reason I can come up with for the message he got. I'm sure it's not anything fishy.

Yes...that is exactly the path I took. I never thought of the Flash auto installing, but it is probably exactly what happened.
