What digital camera's do you recommend for about $500

I got the Casio Exilim 4 megapixel and I love it. around 399, super tiny, perfect to keep in your pocket and have ready in a quick second

I found the digital elph's to have a better menu system that was overall easier to use than the Exslim. Just my :2 cents:

There are so many models on the market right now. The question is, what do you need?

Even if everyone on this board started praising their own digital cameras, that doesn't mean that's what you are looking for.

yes, pretty hard to beat the G5 in that price range. (maybe street price is about 600-)

Yes, ebay is the cheapest and Usually you get lot of extra shit with the camera. G3 or G5 or even G2 - pretty much the same except the price ofcourse. And those are very good cameras indeed !
