.htaccess is a hidden file. I always have to use the "view hidden files" option on my sftpd when I want to edit them.
|
in cuteftp, right click and then hit "Manual Download" and enter .htaccess, it'll download it
|
it works with my Cute FTP
|
don't know how it works in the other programs, but I think there will be a similar solution. yep, normally the htaccess and htpasswd will not be displayed. In the WS-FTP software you have a little box to enter a mask. type in there
-a and hit the enter button. now all your files will be visible |
for cuteftp
Displaying Hidden Files: You can display hidden files on servers using a special filter command. When configuring your filter, select Enable remote filters (Server applied filter). Type in -rtaF next to this field. Your listing command should now be LIST-rtaF, which will display of hidden files. |

It's always hidden, in cuteftp right click and go to "manual get", and type in .htaccess. I'm sure most clients have a similar option.
