how to promote 900 numbers?
 

I got a few 900 numbers. Now how do I promote them? Any ideas? Is newspaper advertising effective? Would web advertising be effective for promoting phone sex?

I have a few in the Netherlands and I advertise in newspapers/magazines and sometimes I buy some advertising time on TV. I don't think that it is usefull to promote them on the web :2 cents:

I see. How about radio advertising?

TV, Radio, Print, Online. It all works. Personalize it as much as possible. Give them plenty of girls to choose from. (see below)

I never tried that, I don't think that that would work very good. I'd just try advertising in papers and magazines. That is the cheapest (here) and it works, I only advertise on TV because I know someone that could give me a great price.

So you're saying if you put a hot phone sex girl on Howard Stern's radio show and the number gets broadcast, no one will call.

It probably all works, but advertising in magazines/papers or TV works better then online or radio :2 cents: . I haven't had much more "costumers" since I am advertising on TV, but it is allmost impossible to find out where the callers com from.

Another option is advertising an adult videos/dvds

We dont have Howard Stern over here, so I dont think that will work. We allso dont have anything like Howard Stern here.

I think Jesse D'Moner has retired after her appearance on Stern and they were only audio tapes!

I just checked with some friends, and they all say that advertising in papers and magazines works the best. TV, internet and radio are second. I can only tell you about Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, Howard Stern should work great but probably cost a lot as well

Any form of exposure can work well if done right.

I would think TV works the best. Judging by all the 1-900 commercials you see on there:)

maybe an idea to buy an opt-in sms list and send advertisements directly to ther cell phones?

Are your 900 numbers US? You ATT shut all of their numbers down this past Sunday, are you sure yours wasn't one of theirs?
