LOTR 3: Best movie I have ever seen

Everyone is entitled to their opinion...

I've heard lots of stuff from: "Frodo and Sam are gay" to "waste of time"

Blah blah.
Hands down this was one of the most powerful and emotional movies I have ever seen. Call me a nerd, but I started reading the Hobbit when I was in grade 4.
Granted half the words I couldn't comprehend.. but it's imagination that grabbed me.

These movies brought me back my imagination, and the final put a nice cap on the trilogy.

BEAUTIFUL movie. If you've yet to see it, it's still in theater in most places so go see it before it leaves the big screen.

StuartD 02-19-2004 01:33 AM

It's still in theatres? Jeeze, it's been a while hasn't it?

Brad Xtremepay 02-19-2004 01:34 AM

Yeah but I finally got around to seeing it... literally 2 months from when it opened in December. ;)

radical 02-19-2004 01:34 AM

Hell yea! there were some really great scenes, like when the riders of rohan charge through the orcs ranks. Fucking great, I have never seen anything like that in a movie!

rip raster 02-19-2004 01:39 AM

yeah it was a great movie, my dad used to read me the hobbit before i even started school :)
i thought it was an excelent conclusion to the series, and the trilogy was beautifully crafted with a perfect balance of state of the art cinematography and special effects with great acting and an awesome story line.

those comments remind me a bit of the original star wars trilogy :winkwink:

I still havent seen it....soon

Bansheelinks 02-19-2004 02:39 AM

Best movie ever made. Hands down.

The pacing was brilliant, the effects, Gollum seemed like a real being.........packed an emotional wallop over and over again. How about those trolls lugging and loading up the huge boulders, or beating the giant war drums?

The series simply has made all the other fantasy movies before it look really weak as far as story-telling goes. The characters must really connect with ppl. as everytime I have seen it, there is a lot of sobbing and snuffling going on.

BTW, the good news is, the extended DVD is almost done, but only available in Nov. 2004, but will be about 4 hrs long.

movie disappointed me, the books were way better...:2 cents:

I have seen the first two and need to make time to see the Return of The King on the big screen!

I am looking forward to the dvd trilogy set too.

Yep, cannot wait for the extended DVD on ROTK! Have seen it 3 times in the theatre.

triumph 02-19-2004 09:46 AM

I disagree, it was the worst movie I had ever seen, 3 1/2 hours of wasted time.

loverboy 02-19-2004 09:51 AM

what took you so long? indeed, it was of the best movies of the year, no doubt it has been nomited at prestigous award winning bodies.

herbalpaul 02-19-2004 09:52 AM

The movie was decent. I just had a very hard time sitting through the long fight scenes. By the end of the movie I was just ready for them to wrap everything up and end the movie already. It seemed like they made you think it was going to end about 5 times and then just faded to another scene. That got irritating after a while.

Bansheelinks 02-19-2004 05:56 PM

Just watched LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring on Encore this afternoon once again; what an outstanding, terrific movie. I never even read the books previous to this series so previously I wasn't a fan but its stunning when you think about how great this series really is.

Nothing compares.

axelcat 02-19-2004 05:58 PM

I still have not seen it
