What would/will you do in case you on day don't have a job? I'm asking because I find it pretty odd that a country that claims to be civilized don't even offer basic health care for its inhabitants.

Here, in Denmark, you don't need it. It's all part of society. You wanna see the doctor, you go. Rich or poor, you go to the hospital.

GoGoBar 02-17-2004 04:23 PM

Blue Cross Blue Shield

rooster 02-17-2004 04:28 PM

blue shield, the plan they have where its just for hospitialization/surgical. Pretty darn cheap, cant remember the exact price but it isnt much. Works out good for someone like me that is never sick, and its there just incase something happens.

My wife and I have health insurance since like one or two months after we married last year.

But we don't have Cable TV yet.

IPK 02-17-2004 05:43 PM

you gotta have health insurance

Theo 02-17-2004 05:45 PM

just watch John Q with Denzel Washington and you'll get an idea of how the health insurance system works in most countries....

Jer 02-17-2004 05:55 PM

I know how the public health system works here, that's why I have health insurance.

But I've had good and "almost good" (the waiting time was a few hours) experiences with the public health system. Thank God.

lakeview 02-17-2004 05:56 PM

I have blue cross blue shield. It just went up, almost $300 month (Im single, no kids, healthy)
I've seen smaller plans with companies I never heard of but they sound like they suck. At least I know bc/bs will be taken anywhere if anything ever happens.

Ozzymosis1 02-17-2004 05:58 PM

Im too cheap...

Pluss i plan to move to Canada in the near future so its not worth it...

Allthough i just got the helicopter bill from my crash and it was about $6,000....

Blue Cross Blue Shield Coast to Coast - From my Real Job

freeadultcontent 02-17-2004 06:33 PM

Yes and the price would knock the italitian out of your juicy. :(

DTK 02-17-2004 06:33 PM

I've been self-employed for 5+ years and have purchased coverage from day 1. However, something that's high on my list of things to afford is the kind of coverage that will allow me to go to the Mayo MFing Clinic for a hangnail if I so desire. Your health is just too precious to not make it a huge priority:2 cents:

mrsexkey 02-17-2004 06:34 PM

I pay 100% of all of my employees medical and dental coverage with Blue Cross.

-Hank

JensMoviePost 02-17-2004 06:35 PM

In Canada it isn't free - you have to pay $54/month. Its very cheap but not accurate to call it free health care and more and more things are not covered anymore.
For example it now costs money for an eye exam.
