I joined Gamefly, anyone else?

It's like Netflix, except for Xbox and other game machines. I got tired of popping $50 for games and only play them for 1/2 hour.

Eric turned me on to it.

Anyone else rent games by mail?

LadyMischief 02-17-2004 08:22 AM

Sounds really cool.. What's the url I didn't even know about the service?

And as for buying games and playing them for only a half an hour, a lot of times you can get new or almost new games on Ebay for like $5-$10, that way if they suck, you haven't lost much ;)

chowda 02-17-2004 08:22 AM

u get turned on by eric?

i just go to blockbuster since its close.. but for u cali guys.. guess it would be better to have it mailed to u.

cool1 02-17-2004 08:22 AM

Nope, don;t have a game machine.

okny 02-17-2004 08:23 AM

I have looked into, it's pretty useful service but never used it myself.

Juicy D. Links 02-17-2004 08:24 AM

What is that? Anybody have a link?

GeorgeK 02-17-2004 08:27 AM

They have an affiliate program on CJ.com that pays $7.50 per trial, which isn't bad for the games niche. Converts great (around 1:20 clicks) on my www.videogamerentals.com site which gets a steady trickle of traffic. :thumbsup

Sosa 02-17-2004 08:32 AM

Interesting idea, will have too look into it.

EDIT: guess I cant promot it from a blog.

I know where to find "alternative" or "generic" PS1 games for like $3 in São Paulo :winkwink:

Chris 02-17-2004 09:38 AM

Very cool. Now i can rent games when i win a contest

candyflip 02-17-2004 09:48 AM

Gamefly is pretty cool. I used them for a few months and then came across Gamelender. Same deal only more games...like 5000 as opposed to 1500.

Not only that, but they have a $30 price point that gets you up to 5 games at one time.

TheEnforcer 02-17-2004 10:54 AM

naw... I like to own the games myself cause I often go back and play through them again at a later time. And if there is a game I don't like as much I just use it as trade-in value for a new one.

BUY GAMEFLY STOCKS NOW!

Alex From San Diego 02-17-2004 11:23 AM

There is some competition for gamefly....

The company is GameZnFlix (GZFX.OB)
right now the website is Veegeez.com soon to be gameznflix.com

I have 2 million shares at 2.2 cents....right now the stock is around 9 cents....

They are soon to add 4000 titles and another 12,000 titles..

If you are into the stock market and have a few thousand to spare or risk, this would be the stock to look at.

I figure even if it becomes 10% of Netflix, you are looking at a 7 dollar stock (Netflix just split last week)....Look what netflix did in 24 months....

I'll risk 40k+ for a possible return of a few millions.

Vedder 02-17-2004 11:41 AM

I use gplay.com. Pretty sweet service

Alex: How long have you had stock in the company? I've got a few g to throw into something right now and might give this one a try.

I bought the stock back in December when its symbol was PGHI

I plan on holding this stock for around 20-24 months

I normally don't play penny stocks but I did the research on this company and spoke to the CEO. The business model is basically the same as Netflix and we all know what that has done in 2 years.

I am not saying or want to even suggest that this is a sure thing as nothing is in the stock market but I just put what I thought I could risk without hurting me if it doesn't pan out.

Right now the stock is .10/share and I bought in at 2.2 cents.

So right now I'm sitting in a good position.

Let me ask you, do you have any knowledge of the stock market?

If so run some charts on it and see what you think.

Obviously lensman does :)

I would be interested in this type of thing...

I like games for about a week, and these $80 one week games are lame.
