Found this today...need your opinion (pic)
 

i found this while i was out and about today. I went to a Goodwill store lookin for a certain book and came across this antique-ish looking bowl.

Its very heavy for its size, looks like copper. I dont know, I bought it for $5 because I like it. Any opinions on it??

I'm an antique dealer, and what you have there looks like a compote from India, and not old and probably worth about $7, but for $5 at least you didn't pay too much.

Dude, that is an antique Aztec "Havieno Nuevo", it's ancient Aztec for "new life." The Aztec's used to have their cats sleep in it, that's why cats have 9 lives. It's worth between $100,000 and $350,000, depending on the buyer.

sell it on ebay opening bid $50 say it's been in the family for over 100yrs. make sure you remove the made in china sticker if there is one. :glugglug

Probably from the late 70's early 80's.

Worth about $5 - since nothing good came out of that time period. :)

Dude that is Romainian, that bowl is what Vlad Dracul used to drink the blood of his enemies from, it is priceless I would be very very careful, hide it quick, change your name and dissappear you are now in grave danger. The dish of blood holds magical powers, it was lost in the war of 1462, and has been sought after ever since. Be very careful who you talk to about this. You must now seek out the Tepes clan in Romainia, the direct ancestors of Dracula, they are the only ones that know what to do and can save you. If that bowl gets into the wrong hands there is no telling what will happen.

My guess is that it say CHINA. So not worth more than $5 since it's from china. You can probably find more bowl like this at the dollar store.

What you have there is called a Whore's Spittoon probably circa 1895. This was a bowl kept by whores during the days of the wild west which they would spit their deposits in after orally servicing a prospector or ranch hand. Approxmiate value at auction $5.13 ;)
