The most interesting part. Altanmia Marketing has no prior experience in the oil supply business. It was selected in a one day process in Kuwait with the US Army specifically requesting them. The Kuwaiti government all of a sudden said Altanmia is the only company authorized to sell Kuwaiti Oil into Iraq.

Altanmia Marketing is owned by some powerful businessmen in Kuwait with close business ties to Bush family companies and the ruling Al Sabah family.

And people wonder why we have wars.

Because last year we were paying 1.15 on average. Who cares what you pay... some countries pay over 5.00/6.00 per gallon... not my problem.

Good thing Bush gave that big tax break to anyone who bought an SUV in 2003... they will need that money to pay for the gas that thing will suck.

What's scary is that if you look at the CIA World Factbook for the USA:

it says that the US is currently consuming around 20 million barrels of oil per day, with 12 million of that being imported (2001 stats). Total proven reserves are 22.45 billion barrels, so at 8 million barrels/day being pumped in the US, that's almost 3 billion barrels/year or only 8 years of supply left. A lot of geopolitics is explained if you believe those stats....

However, folks were predicting that we'd run out of oil "in 10 years" 20 and 30 years ago. :1orglaugh

My Jeep has a 15 gal tank and gets 16 miles to the gallon... I fill up every other day (depending)... Our PU 25 gal tank and 17 miles per gallon...

May not be as much as you pay... but at 2.00, that is almost double what WE are use to paying.

Altanmia is just a bogus so called middle man marketing company setup to funnel close to $30 Million a month into some lazy ass rich bastard arabs and under the table and then through side door deals to you know who down in Texas.

The profits are so immense, that people don't have to do much of anything.

Even the folks who manage the companies barely do much of anything, they are paid for their association with the royal family (not education or intelligence)...the folks who do the real work are American, British and Indian engineers.

Out of a $1.70 per gallon about 60 to 65 cents a gallon are for taxes.......in the UK, where gas is about $6 per gallon, $4.50 is for taxes.
