new computer question

I need to get a new computer... I want to be able to edit and mess with video on it...and do some graphics for my site....
what do you all suggest as far as the system....monitor...
and software

Buy a Mac ... a PowerMac - 2 CPUs, tons of HD space - you know the drill :)

i would go for a p4 with the intel 875 chipset, and a hard drive with 8mb cache. for a monitor i would go for a nice lcd, although some would argue that crt are better.
