Couple of shots from my new camera ::::

Traveled to LA to shoot stills on a hardcore set this past week and got a chance to try out my new Canon 10D. Here's 2 shots from that session.

I really like the quality of the images that this camera produced although I feel I have a little more fine tuning to do to get the colors the way that I want them. These pictures were color corrected to remove a yellow'ish cast that I didn't like. Overall though, I'm pretty happy with the camera -

Post your Canon 10D pics here ::::::

HomeO 02-16-2004 02:32 AM

She is ugly .. I wouldn't fuck her with your dick !! ( Take into consideration my girl friend is leaning in my shoulder right now.)

LasseKongos 02-16-2004 02:36 AM

What was the price for the camera?

Rictor 02-16-2004 02:38 AM

Why'd you shrink the pics down so much? It's hard to see the quality at that resolution.

Kicker 02-16-2004 02:38 AM

Cute girl and great quality of the pics

I hear ya' Jact! I've been a Nikon user for 15 years but just recently decided to move over to Canon. I worked a lot with the Nikon D100 when I worked for Oliver Klozov but seemed to be always fighting that yellow/green problem that is so prevelant with Nikon digital cameras. Some of my friends who shoot mainstream people stuff really liked the Canon so I thought I'd take the plunge. I can't believe how much faster it focuses and how much more intuitive it is to operate. I think once I get it tuned-in the way I want it - there will be no looking back :thumbsup

It goes for about $1499 for the body. I also have the grip which is about another $175. I used the Canon 24-70 f2.8 for those pics I just posted (retails for about $1300) and just picked up a bad-ass wide angle the other day 16-35 f2.8 which goes for about $1300 as well. All I need now is a nice tele 80-200 f2.8 and I'll be set to go.

To be honest, I always found the yellow/green of the Nikon to be easier to filter out of images in post production then the blue variences that Canon is so well known for. I'm going to be in the market for a new body in the next few months so I may hit you up for a follow-up on how you're enjoying the Canon once you've had more time with it.

Keev 02-16-2004 02:45 AM

yea i got the 10D with 2 lenses 28-135 and 70-300mm lenses... looking for a flash kit and my grip is on the way. should have some pics for yall on thurs :-)

That sound great Jact. I should have it dialed in good by then and can offer a more educated opinion. One thing that I am learning about this camera that I don't like is the E-TTL technology that Canon has implimented into the Speedlite flash units.

When I shoot hardcore stills on a porn set for some of the adult productions compaines that I work with - I use a Speedlite flash in the hot-shoe to shoot the pics. Using the 10D and the Canon speedlite is a pain in the ass because of this new E-TTL technology that they are using. Basically I have to learn to shoot differently so that my exposures are consistant.

The way I've always shot with autofocus was to aim the camera at the subject, press the shutter halfway down to lock in the focus, recompose the shot and then fire the shutter. Well, you can't do that with E-TTL. When you recompose the shot - it confuses the camera and the pics are inconsistant in their exposure. Basically, you have to focus the shot by pointing the camera at your subject, then press this little button on the back of the camera that sends out a pulse of light so the camera can lock in it's exposure information and then press the shutter to take the pic. It's confusing as hell and really slows down the process of shooting candid fast paced stuff. I'm researching how to get around this now - hopefully will know more about that stuff soon too!

Colours look good - but outside is always best for digital. And dont forget the prime 85mm Dean

KraZ 02-16-2004 05:04 AM

Hell, I was hoping Canon will introduce a replacement for 10D but no, we have to wait for another year.

also D10 - I like the results but D1s is even better. The only problem of D1s is weight

The Canon 1D is way better than the 10D. I am not a photographer myself but my dad, he's an eventphotographer and uses two 10D and one 1D. The results of the 1D are quite better than the results of the 10D. Sharper and better colors.

I've heard that the problem with the yellow'ish cast could be corrected with a software update for the 10D. But hey ... i won't swear it :winkwink:

for best skin tone and least post-production correction work the fuji pro is the camera to beat.

(for web work)
