A-Rod a Yankee!!!

Selig simply has to approve it and the Yankees get stronger.

I think they did it just to fuck the Red Sox.

The Story

:1orglaugh

he was begging to get off of the Rangers.

Digipimp 02-15-2004 10:16 PM

I'm a Yankees fan and have been, but I'm not real happy to see this overpaid pussy ass bitch on my squad. I don't think it makes us all that much better.

Ic3m4nZ 02-15-2004 10:16 PM

I'm game to throw thousands of dollars that even if they get the best players they won't win the world series!

LOL mmmkay.

Sure he's overpaid what sports figure isn't...but you're talking about a shoe in to the hall of fame..one of the best players in baseball ever....Texas Rangers are just not committed to putting together a real team that could win something more than a division championship.

TampaJim 02-15-2004 10:20 PM

This will make spring training in Tampa more fun.

Nothing like the highest paid player in baseball to bring out the media and the fans.

Like 'em or hate 'em, they keep it interesting.

he adds a lot of offense to the club, way more than that roided out pussy, Giambi

plus he's tight with Jeter, maybe he can keep him out of the clubs a little bit

Sosa 02-15-2004 10:22 PM

fuck the yankees

Sure a lot of sports people are overpaid but not to the extent this guy is. He's a pussy with no heart, he went to Texas for the money, not to win, and then he cried like a little bitch when he wasn't winning. Keep Soriano that guy is on the comeup and bring in Sammy Sosa!

Now I can agree with what you're saying about him crying...but just had to disagree that he wouldn't bring much to the yankees.

I'm from Texas..it pisses me off to see us lose guys like Pudge, and Palmeiro *twice!*.

My father and I joke that the Texas Rangers are on of the best farm teams out there...hey where do you think Sammy Sosa came from? ;)

TampaJim 02-15-2004 10:31 PM

I love the Rangers. So I'm happy to see them get out from under this ridiculous contract. One day they will start winning again.

I like the Yankees. So watching them become an All Star team is pretty cool, too.

The Red Sox are NEVER going to win.

The curse of the Bambino lives.

:1orglaugh

See you at the office Romeo.

Steve 02-15-2004 10:32 PM

it's too fucking hot to play in Texas

they should have built a dome with cranking AC for the Rangers

I'm in Texas too man, and I hate the Rangers and always have, of course I'm not originally from Texas. I just wouldn't want him at the price they're paying when they could bring in two big name pitchers at that rate and keep Soriano who is going to be huge. He's a crybaby and a bitch and I don't if he's on the Yankee's I'm still not a fan of the dude ever.

It's not YOUR squad. :2 cents:

I'm a Yankees fan and I'm glad he's there.

Vitasoy 02-15-2004 10:38 PM

old news :)

xxxdesign-net 02-15-2004 10:38 PM

Rodriguez is good... but I would much rather have Pujols, Bonds.. even Guerrero or Helton on my team... Rodriguez is a .300 hitter... compared to .335+ for the others... he might get 5-10 more homers than Guerrro or Helton but will have 10-20 less doubles.. :2 cents:

Steve 02-15-2004 10:41 PM

Pujols aint going anywhere, Bonds is old, Vlad has a bad back

ARod is young, healthy, and a lethal offensive weopon - he'll hit for a higher avg in the Yankee lineup, and away from Arlington.

Digipimp 02-15-2004 10:42 PM

Is everyone forgetting how good Soriano is at 3 years younger a 1/5 of the salary? For the price of one guy Rodriguez you could have 3 superstars and that's much better than him anyday.

I'll take Gurrero's ass all day long. And excecpt for last year he is good for 30 steals too :)

I'll be about 30 yards from him at every Angels game :)

Man, I was all happy about how the Angels have finally spent some money to find out that the Yankees payroll is actually double that of the Angels even after all the big signings we made..

Should be interesting

sickkittens 02-15-2004 10:46 PM

He should see alot more home runs, especially at Yankee Stadium. He actually is a great opposite field hitter. Yankee stadium is alot smaller than Arlington.

As for Pujols not going anywhere.. I know.. I was just naming players I thought were better than Arod... You hear alot of people saying that Arod is THE best player in the league...

Yeah, but he sucks in the infield. He'll probably play center field soon.

Yanks are all set w/ outfielders now so that's why they're better off w/ A-Rod.

Plus George wasn't too happy w/ Soriano's strikeouts and choking in the playoffs.

Actually it's only slightly smaller on the lines but deeper to center.

Yankee Stadium 318-408-314
Arlington Stadium 330-400-330

It's that right field line that's short in Yankee Stadium but that's only down the line.

Where do you think A-Rod is going, man? The ONLY team that was going to take on that salary was the Yanks. Boston choked on the price tag (I can't blame him, he is way too expensive), and I thik the only reason the Yanks pulled the trigger was because they lost a lot of pitching, and then Boone blows out his knee (by the way, there's next years 2B - not too shabby).

A-Rod is in the Bronx for the long haul.

He won't play, they're giving him up for Rodriguez which is part of what sucks.

Alot of his home runs were center and right center.

Right center is 407 in Arlington, 385 at YS.

If New York do not win the championship.. you know George will want to give him away... the salary cap has been exceeded dramatically... that wont happen 2 years in a row if they dont win... So George could easilly trade Arod... to a Baltimore-like team looking for an impact player.. while paying a bit of Arod salary...

if we kept a lefty starts, I'd agree

Brown is awesome when healthy, I have wanted him for freaking years. Better late than never.

I'd feel better if they re-signed Wells. That was just dumb, leaving him hanging.

Lieber is underrated. We'll see how he does. I hope Karsay will be at 100%.

Lieber is a righty, correct? The bullpen is improved, even if Karsay isn't ready before the All Star break.

I'm just saying, I'd feel better if they had 1-2 lefty starters. Yankee stadium, Fenway, and Baltimore all favor lefty pitching. Well, good lefty pitching, anyway. Wells was a nice security blanket to have. Not even sure what lefty starters are out there we can pry away.

True.. watch for Guerrero's explosion... it might not be this year but he'll hit very soon 50 homers while getting a .340 average...

He has been consistant so far, but people think he can do even better... he's now 27 I think... He can only improve...

The Story

Sad, but true. Steinbrenner jumped on the chance when the Red Sox hesitated. I think A.Rod will be playing third base, because short stop already has Jeter. Too bad Soriano had to go. I'd rather see Giambi go than Soriano.

timboss 02-16-2004 03:42 PM

im not worried about the pitching staff too much anymore, its a decent staff.

Just think of how many fucking runs we are going to score with that lineup!

A lot of experts say they could break the record set by the 32 yanks (murderer's row) for runs scored in a season. (I may wrong on that date)

axelcat 02-16-2004 03:49 PM

Poor boston red sox they sign schilling they get all happy and now the yankees do it again

MrIzzz 02-16-2004 03:51 PM
