Meta Tag Importance

for google optimization, is it important to add the revisit tag or the robots - follow/index?

The 'index, follow' is their default..

The revisit is rather useless in that once they visit, they'll revisit within a reasonable amount of time anyway..

No it isnt for Google however with that being said it is still wise to include them as there are more search engines than just Google ;)
