sig buying has fucked a lot up....
i'm leaning towards eliminating sigs myself - soo much easier to ream the fuck outa the spammers onm a spam post. now they post about nothing just to get their sig sceen and it's just boring

I don't see why sigs are useful for experienced webmasters... Seeing the same sponsor banners doesn't do it for me.

I hear ya and that is even with Grimshawn stealing a bunch of the regular posters for his board which has had about 15 different design changes in the last month lol

The only major difference is Pimpdog... and im 100% serious on this.

It did not get this bad last month and he is the only variable I can see, but some of it might have been due to the larger sig prices.

good board...hadn't been there in a while someone sent me a link to a new one wasn't paying attention and then I realized it was grim's...LOL I thought the name sounded familiar.

I think it's a lack of constant moderation. Someone suggested already that they're probably all on break to speed up the 3mill post deal.

it's lacking moderation.. i think thats the defining factor.. i think it's like they're too scared to clean out the idiots because to a certain extent thats what makes this place.. but there is a line in the sand that has to be drawn.

That´s right. I signed up to the board hoping to get some useful information. But the only thing you can expect here seems to be entertainment - sometimes not even that.

OK, I´m of course not one of the big global players, but some threads just turn me off - not only useless but somehow sick.

On the other hand I learned to know some interesting and nice people when I talked to them on ICQ.

I´ve been moderaring other boards and the problem there is the same: pageviews are more important then quality threads and some stupid people signing up - maybe I´m stupid too - thinking of doing porn for a week will turn them into millionaires in a week or so.

we really need some mods to implement the rules here.

well, it's always been like that, to an extent, on GFY. You always had to read between the lines. The lines used to be double-spaced though, now you need a frigging magnifying glass to find a clue.

So true - by the way: being a newbie on GFY doesn´t necessary mean being a total newbie in the biz. But I´m somehow pissed off reading something like pimp-4-life´s or so threads. Maybe Charly was right it was a fake. But anyway, reading a board must be fun and a little bit informative - not only pissing off. Or it´ll be wasted time only.

In my experience GFY is 20% fun, 70% waste of time and 10% investment. The investment pays off in the end if you use your brain though :)

After a while you know wich threads to click and wich not to click. The problem is only going to get better and I think the only solution is to split the "fucking around & webmaster discussion" section in two seperate sections, one for the fucking around and the other for the serious shit. The first one doesn't need much moderation, just some simple rules (just like the FA&PD now) and the second must have some good moderation. :2 cents:

Visit webmaster Q&A and you'll see why you can't seperate the two. I can post a thread now and still be around the top next week. Useless.
