I'm headed to New Orleans this morning. Any suggestions on where to hang out around there or what to do (other than fuck myself)?

I am armed with a palm sized camcorder and an arsenal of beads :)

i'm about 46-60 mins down the interstate in baton rouge, and i loooove going to new orleans .. the beads wont really do you any good until next weekend.. stuff to do:

-aquarium
-zoo
-city park/westbank
-riverwalk
-go to bourbon street and buy the paintings/give the black kids dancing some money
-just drive around, there's always something interesting to see

ahh, next weekend. i was told the party starts the day of the parades. anyway, i'm in the embassy suites in Baton Rouge today. Had ribs from Memphis BBQ Company last night. That was some amazing BBQ.

Thanks for the tips on what to see. I'm actually here with my fiancee but she's a party girl as well, so it'll be a good time. Aquarium was on our list already but the rest are good direction.

I don't plan on getting ass with beads, I plan on seeing ass :).

One of these years I will make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Your leaving early since Fat Tuesday is on the 24. Are you staying till then? Wife and I are leaveign next Thursday night and staying till the 25. I would just hang around bourbon st the hole time, you should see it all then. Don't forget to go to the cemetery?s they have up there, way cool. They plant every one above ground due to the sea level and it?s pretty cool to read the stones, crazy history there.

yeah the party does start this weekend, but if you end up staying until next tuesday, it'll be something you won't forget..

also more things to do:
-imax theatre
-pick up a hooker and have a 3some with the whore and your gf
-smoke a good true dirty south blunt

Partying in the Quarter will fire up next friday... fo sho..

Anywhere on bourbon street is bound to be grooving after noon each day. Parades are at night and in designated streets.. good luck if you dont already have some ticket or grandstand seat..
bourbon street will become more impassible as you near tuesday... tuesday will be filled with costumes galore.. make sure you have your film or memorysticks... balconies are the place to be on FatTuesday, looking down on the masses..

Yo.. if you are staying past Fat Tuesday (Feb24th) ... do all your shopping after ... especially for souvenoirs, the prices will plummet and bargains galore are found after Mardi Gras.

remember to watch your wallet.. although I have never had problem (could be my petite figure?) I have heard many stories about tourists losing wallet, cameras, etc...

gah, i wish we were her til fat tuesday. I guess we'll only get a teaser this time. my fiancee and i are scoping out this joint to get married at www.oakalleyplantation.com. quite a trek from seattle but the place looks pretty amazing.
