Yes, it is. I've tried Pornkings.com Download Plus before and had great results with it. I joined nichetoolbars.com today, and I'm just waiting for the approval to give it a try.

Not niche though...conversions may be much better

niche toolbars are nice, but the payout is kind of low

I don't think it matters if it's niche or general, you put a blind text link/image on your page, or an automatic prompt on enter/exit of the page, and if the surfer clicks Yes, the toolbar gets installed on his PC and you get the 15 cents. :thumbsup

I wonder why its like that .... free email signup = $1.00 - $1.50 per signup, but some toolbar u have to stick on your browser is only 10 cents ... I'm still considering trying one soon though, if they convert well ... I'll watch this post :)

In regards to low payout, yep it is below some competitors but the last thing we wanted to do was pretty much ruin someones computer with all the extra spyware crap that some other toolbars install.

I could easily go ahead and pay out .20 an install BUT I will have to hook up and piggyback on 10 spyware program who would all pay me essentially X cents per install to piggyback it thus I could pay it out no problem. Not something I want to do. So for now our payouts will stay at .10

Payout price point is all about how agressive the sponsor wants to be. I could pay out more than $1 an email at FEB...BUT I would then have to sell every email I get as it comes in to 5-10 email brokers, etc...So essentially the surfers email box would be hit with 50-100 spams a day for joining my site. Again not something I want to do.

The whole key is to be unobtrusive and not club the surfer over the head with a ton of adware apps.
We've seen plenty of companies burn thru their surfers with adult popups, etc.
no one wants that shit.
