NBA is now at the break. Is there really any team that can stop the Kings?

After all, their #1 player hasn't played one minute this season and is about to return.

Or will Weber fuck up the chemistry?

Digipimp 02-13-2004 01:26 AM

I'm a Lakers fan too, but I don't know what's up with them this year. They've got veteran talent so the regular season doesn't mean much. But who knows if they'll be together and healthy and what not. I think they can make a run for it, but I look for the Rockets to pull off an upset but not go all the way.

XxXotic 02-13-2004 01:30 AM

fuck the lakers

goBigtime 02-13-2004 01:31 AM

I wonder how you would break down the per year cost of that 7 year ~$128 million contract?

I mean, figuring the last couple years of it he probably wont perform as well as he can now.

The 2002-2003 season he had a salary of a little over 14 million.

It would be real sad if he fucked up the teams chemistry.

He's a great player though.... maybe we'll win it all this year :)

MetaMan 02-13-2004 01:31 AM

ya the Spurs,

they are not one of my fav teams by a longshot but Duncan will dominate Vladi in the paint.

Lakers are to busted up but you never know.

MadCap 02-13-2004 01:32 AM

Fuck the NBA. College basketball is where it's at.

sicone 02-13-2004 02:35 AM

Kings are are the team for sure this year, when Webber comes back there may be a few probs, but they will be ironed out long before the playoff's start.

boardersweetie 02-13-2004 02:53 AM

Kings4L! Mike Bibby is a hottie!!

flashfire 02-13-2004 04:08 AM

Paul Waters 02-13-2004 07:13 AM

I just want to see the Kings, Wolves, Rockets and Mavs make it past the first round.

Then we will have three fantastic series!

Should have a good eastern final, and a slaughter in the NBA final.

howard 02-13-2004 09:00 AM

To be honest Sacremento reminds me of my Philadelphia Eagles.

We get to the championship round 3 years in a row and lose..

I would love to see Sacramento or Minnesota knock off the Lakers but if everyone plays the Lakers will win.....

BradShaw 02-13-2004 09:18 AM

Webber is not their #1 player. Peja is. They have great chemistry now. When Webber comes back, he will screw everything up, and they will fail to make the NBA finals.

BradShaw 02-13-2004 09:19 AM

TIMEOUT

Forgot to mention that after I typed out Webber.

Hardcore Kay 02-13-2004 09:28 AM

Honestly at the begining of the season I thought the Laker were going all the way, but now I'd don't even cosider them in the top 5. The Timberwovles and Spurs are the only team that have a chance against the Kings. Especially the Timberwovles because they match up so well. Garnett vs Webber, Cassell vs Bibby, Sprewell vs Chistie and Wally vs Peja. I think those two teams will make it the finals.

phelix 02-13-2004 09:29 AM

My local squad, my beloved T-wolves and MV3 (cassell, spree and big ticket).

Mike AI 02-13-2004 10:16 AM

The Kings will fuck themselves like always.

One of the great choking teams of all times.

hahahah - gotta love Webber and timeouts - THE STUPID FUCKING FUCK LOST IT FOR MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!

:321GFY :321GFY

http://sportsmed.starwave.com/media/...ber1993_sp.jpg

April 5, 1993 - North Carolina won the NCAA Tournament, but the final will forever be remembered more for Chris Webber's blunder. NC led 73-71 when Webber, Michigan's All-American sophomore forward, rebounded Pat Sullivan's missed free throw with 19 seconds left.

Webber traveled, but no referee called it. Given a second chance, he hurriedly dribbled across midcourt, stopping in front of Michigan's bench. Then he signaled for a timeout with 11 seconds remaining. The only problem was that the Wolverines were out of timeouts.

Donald Williams hit two free throws after the technical and another two after a foul, wrapping up the Tar Heels' 77-71 victory in the Superdome in New Orleans.

After the game, Webber, who scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds, sat chagrined and thoroughly miserable in the locker room. "I just called the timeout and that probably cost us the game," he said.

FUCK YOU WEBBER!

axelcat 02-13-2004 10:33 AM

THE LAKERS

Bigdogg 02-13-2004 10:34 AM

The Sackless Queen's will choke just like they do every year!! All goes good in Laker Town. All-Star break with give Kobe & Shaq time to heal!! Lakers will be the hotest team in the second half!!! Your heard it here first!!!

Then it's all over when the Mail Man comes back!! We are already planing the parade!!!

GO LAKER:thumbsup :thumbsup

TheEnforcer 02-13-2004 11:34 AM

Utah and Milwaukee baby!!

That's MY dream final!!

No prima donnas. No whiners. No selfish assholes. No head cases. Just two teams that play hard 100% of the time, rely on teamwork, aren't selfish, and actually care about and listen to their coach.

Everybody and their brother and mother said these two teams would be two of the worst in the league and they are giving everybody who doubted them a big Go Fuck Yourself :321GFY with had work, dedication, and teamwork!! What a novel concept.

:thumbsup

what i have in mind. Kings is now a powerhouse even without Webber.

probably Lakers when Malone gets back. they started to spoil their start when 3 star players started to get into sidelines.

Nets are still a contender, sizzling hot 10 straight wins. now you call that inspired ball club.

still a long way stretch to finish... enough time for LA to finish the strong start.

Nas7782 02-13-2004 11:45 AM

Anyone but the Lakers is cool w/ me.

Heres my :2 cents:

I have never liked webber. He can play yes, but in order for the kings to stay successful, they need to make Peja the #1 look. Not webber. There season will depend on how and if webber will react to being option # 2. If he accepts the role, they could be devastating.

I truly believe in character and desire. If Malone is healthy, he and the Glove want the title too badly not to fight for it like theres no tomorrow. The ego brothers, Kobe and Shaq should hop on their coat tails and show some anger and play. I watched them against Houston the other night and they dont care right now. The lakers need this line up healthy and angry to win:

Payton at point bringing up the ball.
Kobe off gaurd
Malone power forward
Shaq
Fox - only if he is 100% at small forward to match up on defence

I understand chemistry is important and too many guys wanting the ball can be detrimental, but this squad could work and i think the catalyst is Malone. Hes mean, sometimes dirty but his work ethic and motivation for the title is probably bar none right now.

The other team out of the west that could cause trouble is the Timberwolves. The addition of spreewell and cassell put them over the hump. With a healthy Zcerbiak along for the ride this could pose problems for the west.

In the east, Jersey is still the team to beat. Kidd appears to be playing much better since Scott got canned. But they are still missing that big guy and the experiment with ZO did not work.

This is again the wests year for the title. Will the Lakers show some guts?

Will KG validate his role as MVP by getting farther into the playoffs?

Will Webber realize what needs to be done for them to beat the Lakers?

It will be fun to watch!
:winkwink: :winkwink:

LA Mike 02-13-2004 12:20 PM

Lens...comon now.... Kings will never finish ahead of the Lakers :)

Go Lakers

The Rockets are getting it together, but I think they need at least 1 or 2 more years to get all the pieces in place...

AS much as I hate to say it, SA may give Sac a run in West...

The veteran Lakers will pull it together during the Playoffs, when it matters the most.

The Lakers will win again.

LOL

Kings fans are so obsessed with the Lakers. Hilarious.

When the Lakers were healthy, they went 18-3.

If Kobe and Karl are healthy by the middle of March, then nobody will stop them.

The Kings are about the 5th best team in the league:

1. Lakers (when healthy)
2. TWolves
3. Spurs
4. Pacers
5. Kings

Nima 02-13-2004 01:38 PM

The Lakers were 18-3 with all of their all-stars etc... what makes you guys htink they won't take it all the way when the Mail Man is back? you gotta be crazy if you think ANY team can beat the lakers with all the future hall of famers they got! TRUST ME they will take it all the way and win if they have all of their strong players healthy and ready to play

Other than a healthy Lakers team, the Spurs and Wolves are the only two teams with a legitimate chance against the Kings. Peja is on fire, and Webber just wants to win. After choking the last 3 years, and his fuckup in Michigan, he wants a trophy...even if it means giving up the glory to Miller.

Hardcore - the Wolves may match up, but in your little comparison, you didn't even mention Vlade, or Miller, who is averaging almost a triple-double. KG may be MVP, but the Kings are gonna be champions. (over Indiana, not New Jersey...Carlisle is too good of a coach)

MadCap 02-13-2004 02:25 PM

Ill say it again KG4MVP regular season but most important the finals!!!!!!

Tpups year to get past the first round. We have the talent and fire power to beat any team in the leauge in a seven game series.

I just hope they peak at the right time. :winkwink:
