Wow. After 3 Years My Cable Modem Pooped Out and Im on 56k
 

Holy fuck.

been on cable for years and my cable modem died the other night.

just getting online and setting up pops to check mail and decided to hit the board, woah 56k sucks jesus' balls.

anyway, cant get a new cable modem till Tuesday.

Forget the cable company. Go to Best Buy and buy a new modem. They're $50 after rebate. You'll be back online tonight.

I remember surfing on a 14.4k modem... Dayum, how did I stand that back then!

I can remember carrier pigeons - mail was okay (if a bit slow), but sending attachements was a bitch...

im still in a 14.4 modem

its not worth the money to get broadband

im used to the speed it not that bad

I'll give Adelphia credit... in 3 or so years of using them i only experience 7 days total of down time. Not bad.

Just moved over towards Encino and TIME WARNER ROCKS!! Not just their RoadRunner service but Cable TV as well.

56k seems so much slower after experiencing cable/dsl..

I tried downloading ICQ on a 56k it took more than 2 hours... really sucks

that blows. don't know what i'd do without my cable modem. when i talk to people who don't use it i can't stress to them enough how important it is to get it...you can save years of your life that you would have spent waiting

a few years ago it wasnt so bad because the internet was built for dialup...not now though

Comcast sucks schlong...

Although they did just double our connection speed... I got 520kbps download the other night.. that rocks...

56k sucks, im on it right now.

After being on cable, 56K is very hard to take! My condolences!

That's why I have a backup. My main connection is cable and have DSL as a backup.

56k blows bigtime.
