Mac Monitor Question. Apple HD Cinema Display
http://www.apple.com/displays/acd23/
Apple HD Cinema Display, you can use it on pc too right? Anyone know how that process goes...? |
|
But isn't that basically converting the signal to vga, and thus defeating the purpose?
|
you asked if it could be done, I showed ya how ; )
Personally, I'd just buy the Sony 23" LCD to use on a PC. http://www.sonystyle.com/intershopro...P232WFRONT.jpg |

Hmmmm...I think my card has friggin dvi outputs...
|
hoax, you can use a converter to go from the monitors ADC connector to DVI, so the signal will remain digital and pure (not analog VGA)... Apples ADC connector is really just DVI combined w/ power leads...
the only drawback to using these on PC's is that you cannot adjust the brightness or contrast of the display, as this functionality is part of the Mac OS and not a physical control on the monitor... since they ship at maximum brightness this isn't usually an issue for most people. it really isn't a good time to be buying one of Apples high-end displays though, as the product line is overdue already for new models... there are some pretty good rumors regarding their new monitor offering coming soon, a 30" widescreen cinema display, probably worth the wait. oh, and send me a new shirt! my wife took the last one and won't give it back..! |
