San Francisco to San Diego...

This is a really retarded question but I need plane tickets from San Francisco to San Diego but can't find any direct flights. How can there not be a direct flight from San Francisco to San Diego? That seems very odd. Every flight result ends up passing through Las Vegas or Phoenix.

Any input? Am I missing something? Need tickets from March 8th - March 16th.

cocky 02-12-2004 09:24 AM

us airways has non-stops for $283, actually on travelocity you can find untied directs for $283 also.

I just back from San Diego on Monday. 75 and sunny everyday. Currently 3 degrees in Denver.:thumbsup

Sly_RJ 02-12-2004 09:24 AM

Damnit, same thing with Oakland. Any other airports in the Bay Area?

Just thought LAX was a lot more direct and 2 hours shorter than the other routes he posted.:Graucho

Shit. Guess my friend will have to suffer. I'm not paying an extra $100 just to save him 2 hours.

The directs on us airways are $100 more? I don't see any indirects under $200.

Bigdogg 02-12-2004 09:34 AM

Try iflyswa.com they fly there..

Sly_RJ 02-12-2004 09:34 AM

America West through Phoenix/Las Vegas is $150-170.

cocky 02-12-2004 09:37 AM

shit! Travelocity has them listed at $280, or course I don't know your dates. Yeah, take the indirect...more miles anyway.

Why not just drive? Heading North out of SD was a really beautiful area. I loved it around there.

Because we're flying to Cancun the next day. Who wants to drive 9+ hours and then sit through airports all day. Plus, it's too risky. If the car would breakdown, etc.

What about SAC?

Sly_RJ 02-12-2004 10:11 AM

Too much hassle. I can get direct from Oakland for $79 each way. I'll just do that. Disappointed that both Southwest and America West don't have direct from San Francisco.

Randy 02-12-2004 10:14 AM

try southwest!

homegrownmof 02-12-2004 11:08 AM

I thought Alaska Air had direct to SD.

DTK 02-12-2004 11:24 AM

Sly, try San Jose

spaulding 02-12-2004 11:43 AM

southwest has last minute flights for around $100. pretty much anything in the west, even last minute, is a southwest sure bet.

tell him to fly out of oakland...

you can take BART (subway) from SF to Oak for $5 and it takes you right to the Oakland Airport
