Two new sources say Bush National Guard records were "cleansed"
As Texas Gov. George W. Bush prepared to run for president in the late 1990s, top-ranking Texas National Guard officers and Bush advisers discussed ways to limit the release of potentially embarrassing details from Bush's military records, a former senior officer of the Texas Guard said Wednesday.
A second former Texas Guard official, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, was told by a participant that commanders and Bush advisers were particularly worried about mentions in the records of arrests of Bush before he joined the National Guard in 1968, the second official said. Bill Burkett, then a top adviser to the state Guard commander, said he overheard conversations in which superiors discussed "cleansing" the file of damaging information. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...ard-usat_x.htm :1orglaugh |
Don't miss out on the real scandal. :)

Do you think the Clinton investigations were wrong now? Do you admit that right wingers were idiots who hurt America? If what Clinton did 20 years ago was important to right wingers, then what Bush did should be too. |
It should at least prove that Bush isn't a total idiot if he was smart enough to cleanse or have someone cleanse his record.
If it indeed happened. I typically vote along the Rep lines as I believe in a strong military and in doing for yourself. All politicians are full of shit, but Dems blatantly lie to those that vote for them on a daily basis - "vote for us and we'll make sure the government will take care of you" instead of what should be said "get a fucking job and save your fucking money". Funny thing is, I usually gain some respect for politicians, regardless of party, when these "scandals" arise... |

The only thing I had any issue with clinton was the pounding on the podium pointing his finger at me denying it. |

The issue revolves around his National guard (dis)service, which happened a hell of a lot longer than 9 years ago. also, the whole "or does the truth hurt" line.. is fucking played. |

Dont you think that could be considered a crime? If he was a democrat they would be screaming about impeachment. |

But I care not about his service in the national guard, nor do I care about Kerry's actions of that time that people are making a big deal about now. If I were around back then, I'd probably be Canadian. |

If he was so good 20 years ago why do they need to change anything now and what gives them the right? I don't care what he did 20 years ago, I do care that they think they can rewrite records to suit him now. |
