Creative Tax Deductions

OK, so I am sure a lot of you have thought of some neat things to do that you are able to use as a tax write off, maybe it's something simple like the trip to internext for a week or renting a house for the weekend for a shoot. Maybe it's something even cooler. Let's hear it.

Need to lower your Federal taxes? I know the man that can do it. :Graucho

Nah, I was just more interested. Maybe I could pick up a few good ideas. Why, who you got? Taxes suck.

Is it legit? The IRS can really get into your shit, and I don't want any trouble with the feds. Does he take out of state slients? Unless you're in Hawaii.

I like it. It really sucks that they don't allow you to write off dinners anymore.

He uses any and all loopholes, to make you pay as little as possible if any. Has an ebook somewhere, I'll find his site so you can read about him. I'm sure he takes clients from anywhere but his services are a few k so unless you owe more than that it wouldn't benefit you.

Yeah, post his site. I'll check it out. If I wouldn't benefit then maybe someone else would. Teamwork. :thumbsup

When did that change? I thought you could still write off enterainment expenses incurred while you are trying to snare a client.

You can still write off 50% of meal and entertainment expenses.

Really? I thought they did away with it completely. I am going to have someone look into it. Better start saving those dinner reciepts again.

Yeah, most tax money is wasted (no surprise there). I read in the Economist or some similar magazine a couple years ago how the average persons tax dollars are allocated, it's unbelievable, I'll try to dig up a link. Such a waste.

That's exactly how I feel. Why in the hell should I pay for some shit that I will never use. Like going to Mars, who the fuck cares about going to Mars. There's no reason to go there. Just a waste of money.

Exactly. But there are only two things certain in life! Taxes & death!

I'm paying way too much in personal taxes, that's why I'm opening a company (around 16% of the income will be taxes).

polish_aristocrat 02-12-2004 04:32 PM

the most creative tax deduction

( please someone bump that thread )

candyflip 02-12-2004 04:42 PM

My mom does my taxes. If I can provide a receipt and a legit reason behind it, she manages to get me a credit of some sort. It's a great thing seeing how I don't pay on the money coming in as it comes in like most working Americans. She did me good this year....I'm getting a nice return after a few years of bending over and taking it.

candyflip 02-12-2004 04:45 PM

We could always just do what these guys did and start a revolution :Graucho
