Should still be under warranty, get a new one. Although with laptops I dont think I really trust anyone besides Sony, Dell and Apple. Although I've heard some bad stories about Dell on occasion if you still have your warranty alive and kicking at least they get repairs/replacements out to you.

Try a panasonic toughbook, military grade. :thumbsup

Have you checked if it's in CRT mode?
Have you plugged in an external monitor recently and forgot to switch it back to lcd? :Graucho

Never had a problem with Toshiba. Several of my partners use Toshiba laptops.

Write to PCMagazine, Laptops magazine, PCWorld, Maximum PC, etc, and try to get one of their investigative reporters to ask why it failed in the first 2 months of ownership... Squeeky wheel gets the greace, or in this case, the new laptop.

buy a new one and see, older toshoba's were awesome. last 5 months - no quality controll. they SUCK now

I had a similar issue with my sony vaio...like within a month the network card burned up...the trouble of sending it out to be repaired while I had work to do was just not worth it....went out and bought an external card.

I use a toshiba for when i travel and it fucking rocks.
Service has been great and over-helpfull....

you should see my toshiba laptop. mouse pointer adn kayboard do not work so everywhere i take it (vacation, shows) i hafta take a plug in mouse and keyboard. but the LCD still works. :-)

Had that problem with a Sony Viao... The screen was for shit... sent it back 5 times, and still they could not get it right. Could not see why, the ones in the store looked great. I finaly asked for my $$ back.
