1 thing I dont like (out of about 1,000,000 ;)) is the people who this east cost and west cost is the world and there is nothing beyond it... close minded people.

Yet after all this time when i go in to buy a one way ticket, it costs twice as much ( or more ) than a round-trip ticket. WTF is with that shit..

A lot... but that's not the point. An airline is a business, and like any other business, is either profitable or it's not.

And there's no reason that they shouldn't be profitable.They should be making loads of cash. In which case, the tickets shouldn't cost as much as they do, and they shouldn't be needing hand outs.

Sorry smokey but I think you're way off base on that one. Airline tickets are the same price that they were 20 years ago....what the hell else can you say that about. When the airlines asked people what their biggest concern was, it was price. 25 years ago flying was very expensive and a big deal, now it's still the same dollar amount (in other words WAY CHEAPER), and there are no frills.....we got what we wanted.

As to one way being more than round trip, that has to do with fuel consumption, and it is the same way all over the world, not just with US airlines:2 cents:

Are you aware of the reasons the government bailed them out? Here's a hint: It kept victims of 9/11 from suing the airlines AND it kept them in business when the public was afraid to fly AND it allowed them to give refunds for customers who had bought tickets and were afraid to fly. If you think they did this strictly as a welfare action towards the AIRLINES, you're mistaken.

I'm not saying many of them were being badly run (and still are) but again, we either wouldn't be flying anywhere if that money wasn't granted or we'd be paying $3K+ for each and every plane ticket. :thumbsup

American TV is commercials with something in-between - not the other way around. They have problems with soccer because they can't stop the game all the time.

In tennis, 11 % of the time they play. The rest is pauses, players getting ready to serve, etc. Boring as hell, if you ask me - but very good for ads.

We have this silly thing in American called "capitalism" and businesses are free to charge what they want and the market decides if the price is acceptable. :winkwink:
