BigPinPin 02-11-2004 02:51 PM

Paul Markham 02-11-2004 08:43 PM

They spam me all the time, like I'm going to buy their crap.

They obviously believe if they throw enough shit at the wall some will stick.

MrIzzz 02-11-2004 08:44 PM

fucking spammers:1orglaugh

BrentD 02-11-2004 09:11 PM

then don't signup for a double optin email newsletter or buy from us then if you don't want our newsletter, its common fucking sense. I have over 7000+ webmasters on our list and as I have said many times before you signed up on our site, bougth content from us in the past, signed up for a contest on the web that we provided a prize for in exchange for your email address (like the conest ThrobX ran), etc, etc.

Our host knows we do not spam, and if your too god damn lazy to click the fucking link at the bottom of the email which takes alot less time then bitching on some god damn message board where you gotta air your laundry then get a fucking clue and click the fucking link and be off the list you signed up for to start with.

God damn I am so sick of whining ass baby cocksuckers who signup for shit and then reem me out over it...get a fucking life and STFU:321GFY

Spamming is bad. Peroid. Its not acceptable. I get something like 1,000 spams a day (and yes, I am counting and I have been counting since July 1, 2003) and I don't buy anything from spammers - ever.

Does this provider provide a "Dont include me on your list" or other opt out link when you signup for thier site? If so, its your fault for not checking it (or unchecking it, as the case may be). But if they just took your e-mail address and started sending you crap that you didnt ask for, thats bad.

It sounds like this is one of those places that ads you to thier spam list when you buy from them and thats not right regardless of what anyone thinks. Now, if there is a box there that says "Send me offers" and its checked by default and you didnt uncheck it, you have only yourself to blame.

Bottom line is that if your company sends promotional e-mail to a customer or perspective customer without first asking or without obtaining permission from the customer and providing the customer with the ability to NOT be included - before you start sending the messages, then you're a spammer. It dosent matter if you have a remove link or not.

When you come to the site you can browse for free without registering, you can also add yourself to our lsit on the side bar through the newsletter signup with text or html and you can also remove yourself with this same box, when you buy you register and get put on our list, the first time you recieve a newsletter from us there is a link at the bottom to click, you don't have type in your email address (yes our system is smart enough to recognise the email address in the url as many make you manually type it in again) and you are removed. Nothing hard about that.

When you signup in the newsletter box it double opts you in, meaning you gotta click a link in the email that comes to you to verify you signed up and not someone else. Same goes if I manually enter you into the add/remove emails box in our admin, if I add you it sends an email letting you know and gives you the chance to verify yes or not, so there is no way to add emails to teh system without the person buying or adding themselves and verifying or by buying something, all 3 legit reasons to send mail to them.

I run 8-9 online businesses, I don't have teh time to sit and collect emails or buy emails, ask the idiot who sent me a message a bit ago from here trying to sell me emails and I told his ass no it was not right, he said that they all bought porn on the web witha CC, that doesn't give a right to spam either, unless they checked a boxed that blantly satted somethign like this, then its wrong:

"I agree that by signing up or buying a product that I will be spammed by thousands of worthless webmasters who break the law by spamming and offer stupid shit in their emails"

Now when you get someone stupid enough to agree to those terms them you havea legal mailing list to share and sell. But then again I would not expect too many people from here to be smart enough to figure that out since they spend all day sitting on here yapping their damn jaws instead of out making money or helping fight against a good cause to help save porn biz on the web. It's idiots that spam that cause our credit card processing rates to go up and for processors to stop processing, then tehy have the balls to turn around and bitch at the processor for quiting, what a bunch of clueless fucks. Anyway I have your post and I am very pleased that you at least posted civil, thanks.

I get lots of crappy email from them too. Although I've never tried the unsubscribe link. Something tells me it wouldn't have any effect.

Heywood Jablome 02-11-2004 10:02 PM

For what it's worth, I have bought content from CD-Media.net many times. I opted out from the newsletter back in September & haven't received one since. :2 cents:

CD Media is good people.
I had accidentally signed up twice under different emails, and I unsubscribed one address with no problems.

I welcome the newsletter with no problem, just as I do Paul Markham's newsletter and any other content provider who sends me newsletters.

Kevin2 02-12-2004 08:12 PM

I have dealt with Brent for years and he is a good guy :thumbsup

I also receive the news letter and it's simple to unsubscribe.

so you think sets for $5 are over priced. Can't you sell your crap at $2 then? The fact that you think my resell prices are too high proves how well you sell.

I've tried the link at the bottom of the email, it does not work.
