What's the big allure? They ran an article in stuff magazine a while back on some guy's experience smoking it... but it wasn't very detailed. And I'm talking any form of crack... from the ghetto shit, to simply freebasing good coke. Is there a difference between the two?

hahaha from what i hear it's 30 seconds of bliss or some shit like that... followed by immediately wanting another hit. And when being extremely irritated untill you get that next hit.

a) i have no interest in trying it
b) i can't see why anyone would be able to get addicted to anything that lasts but seconds
c) i like my teeth, and i like not being irritated.

edit: it's also called freebase, or "el gato mea" as they would call it down south...

true... then again, I smoke alot of herb. however, not so much so that it has ever conflicted with my lifestyle, be that personal or professional. I am fine without, but I've always had a fairly (ok really) short fuse... and I've found that I am a million times more tollerant of others stupidity, and other bs when I smoke. Oddly enough, I find I am at times more productive and focused when buzzed. *shrug* To each their own, and just do whatever you're going to do in moderation and with good judgement. I started this thread partially because I have never seen someone who smokes crack execute decent judgement or self control ;)


edit: I also don't gamble. I blew $500 on craps in the course of 5 minutes in vegas a few years back. Since that little episode, I've only thrown pocket change into slot machines as Im walking by. I've won $55 so far! Hehehahah

seriously...it is highly physically addictive and dangerous and the payoff is nil.

i feel inclined to mention heroin here too. one of the 1st things i learned in this industry is never-say-never because people can, and will, do anything you can think of and then some. however, i have to say, my only "never" is that i'll never try heroin. hugely dangerous, instantly addictive and easily overdosed. i've seen too much of the ugly side to ever be willing to take a dip in that pool.

I can't imagine what the big selling point would be for a soon to be crack head, I mean what's it take to wanna become a crack head?

I mean, it's not like coke or X where people do it for fun at parties...I can't think of any possible good thing about becoming a crack head... it's pretty much almost a 80% chance that after doing it once you are addicted.. and will soon sell all your belongings, steal everyone else's then sell your ass on the corner for another hit... so where is the strong selling point in that?

I've never done any sort of drugs because I've never felt the need to.. Maybe that's why I can't understand crack heads :1orglaugh but really what would make someone want to try it?

Ya know, I've said the same about a select few things in my life. Cocaine was one of them... Heroin the other. Ive tried coke, and I found it to be about the effects of a shitload of espresso and some novacane... never really held an interest. Heroin on the other hand, is something I would never even bat an eye at. First off I HATE shots, and second, I HATE junkies... and I've too seen way to many fall to that path to even consider it for a heartbeat. Although, I've heard being on heroin is like a walking orgasm with every step. Then again, Keith Richards also told a good friend of mine that the only difference between cocaine and smack, is that it feels good to quit coke. I guess I'm just glad I have never had any interest in either.

You know , you ask what makes a person want to try it , well that is like me asking what the fuck does a person get out of a person shitting on them or pissing on them or even fisting .
We as people do not really know why we do hafe the shit we do , if we did do you think we would be as fuck up as we are not i dont think so. It is just one of those things in life we ask and will never really get the real answer to

Very wise words. When I was younger, I viewed certain drugs certain ways. Even when in college I didn't drink... never really enjoyed it. However I would smoke, roll at a rave maybe once every couple of months, and did a handful of other substances on an ocation, however it was never to "escape" or for the sake of intoxication. I would go backpacking by myself and eat some mushrooms in the middle of the desert or forrest once I had setup camp and whatnot. And I would always come back from those trips feeling as if I had gained some level of understanding or perhaps just another perception. Either way, it's all about the way we perceive things, life, people, etc.

Our life is the fire, and drugs of any sort (booze included) is the wind. Just enough can re-kindle a flame, and too much will simply blow it out.

Crack ain't all that bad...I do it about 2 to 3 times a month. Its a nice way to relax with family.

Hrm... meth is about at the same level if you ask me. I've had a couple of friends fall to meth and it isn't pretty. One of those drugs I wouldn't touch with my worst enemy's dick on a 10' pole

OK really it sucks. From a life choice standpoint of course. I've done it just for kicks. Mouth numb, chemically taste. Maybe a minute of euphoria I don't really remember. It honestly wasn't all that great.

Of course, I never liked coke, so I'm probably just not prone to liking crack. Give me some oxycontin or some good quality E and you won't see me for weeks though. This, my friends, is why I don't do drugs anymore.
