Bill O'Reilly publicly apologizes
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...h_oreilly_dc_3
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq (news - web sites) had weapons of mass destruction. The anchor of his own show on Fox News said he was sorry he gave the U.S. government the benefit of the doubt that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons program poised an imminent threat, the main reason cited for going to war. "I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America." |
it's about time someone in the media starting voicing sketicism about this. there's no question saddam needed to be removed but the bullshit reasoning to go over there......when do these politicians get it? all people want is the truth....is that so damn hard.
good for o'reilly. start showing these mindless bush followers that it's time to get bush, and his art covering administration, out of office for good. |
O'Reilly is a pimp. He seems reasonably fair a lot of the time though honestly. But he's still a little too conservative for me.

Oreilly's ratings must be dropping and a democrat in office would give his show a boost lol.
|
Good. About time he was served up an extra large portion of humble pie.
|
I can't believe it! Fuck Bill O'reilly!

He should've known better than to blindly believe those in power. His country and it's values demand better.

well i still don't like dude, but he did say he was going to to this if he was wrong can't knock him for keeping his word

The problem in this day and age is the poisen of sociallism that has swept thru europe, canada, and alot of the usa.
Was their propaganada used. Hell yes. Just as their was propaganda about hilter, the japs, communism. The problem is people in this day and age just want to sit on their hands and hope problems go away. It dosent work. It didnt work with 8 years of Clinton and it wont work for anyone. All these guys like Clinton, Clark, etc have dozens of quotes out there of them saying how bad a guy sadaam is and has weapons, etc. But then when it comes time to do something, they put their head in the sand. Removing that guy was the right thing to do. The vast amount of opposition is just political opponents looking for any blood in the water that they could possibly use for political gain. |
rooster dude, your argument can be equally applied to plenty of dictators - some who are or were more of a threat than saddam
|
I can't believe he apologized, I knew he said he would if they didn't find weapons, but I never thought in a million years Bill O'Reilly would say he was sorry. Doesn''t do much good now though, he was a major propaganda pusher before the war.
|
but those dictators dont present the strategic gain that removing saddam did.
removing him was the right thing to do for several reasons, but the only way to get todays negative and apatheitc public behind something is tough |
Wow, that is pretty huge. A lot of conservatives trust and respect this guy, and for him to make such a statement ... will be interesting to see the results.
|
fair enough rooster, I respect your views!
but a lot of people wont and they're demanding answers. |

O'Reilly factor is one of maybe 3 media outlets that can get the truth out of any issue.. That's why i like him.. the other two media outlets: Meet The Press, Entertainment Tonight.:thumbsup |

O'Reilly has earned a sliver of respect from me. I still don't like him or agree with him, but I respect him just a little bit more now.
|
Wow.... Bill O'Reilly is actually holding himself accountable for his words.
I'm stunned. |

Bill O'Reilly and the rest of the media are all fucking sheep. If you all noticed before the war started they were against it. When it started they were in support and all praised Bush. And now a year later they're all anti-Bush once more. Bunch of fucking sheep I tell you!

We definately need answers to some tough questions. The President and his staff can only make decisions on the best information they are given.
It was commonly beleived that Iraq had WMD, that is one thing most people did not debate - not even the French. We as a Country need to refine our Intelligence gathering services. We need to stop relying upon Satilittes and start getting really human intel from the ground. There needs to be serious hearings, but I fear it will be bogged down in Presidential politicas. This is an issue that should be bigger then politics - too bad politicians on both sides do not understand that. |
