Who has been using the wifi hotspots from McD and starbucks?
 

we dont have any at our local McD and starbucks in montreal.. but i noticed how there were soo many of these guys around in nyc.

question is, do u use it while ur there?

i cant see someone doing something important online at mcdonalds.

but i do hear sleazy loves his big mac...

it's great. i love public wireless, i use it all the time. airports, hotels (in fact i'm using wireless right now in my hotel's lounge).

nice.

but like offering it at mcdonalds.. i just dont see it as popular.

i'm getting a nice airport extreme card ready for some montreal hot spots.

got any of them that arent hotels?

videotron has them set up in two seperate van houttes (100 McGill and 2000 McGill College).

the cafe supreme on st laurent (across from second cup) has it as well but i believe you have to pay. at least you did my my gf's parents were part owners.

i'm sure there are other places as well.

I was thinking about buying a card and trying Starbucks wireless today. I am away from home and stuck with a very slow dialup connection at my hotel.

Anybody know what the cost of the T-Mobil plan at Starbucks runs?

Maybe I will try it tomorrow. I would rather sit at Starbucks all evening with a high speed conection and a mocha latte while updating my sites, than sit in my hotel room by myself with a slow connection.:winkwink:

i went to use the wireless at buffalo airport but im not gonna pay 15.99 for 2 hours of usage im not in that much of a rush :)

mcdicks no (since i can't stand that place), but starbucks sure.

there is a cafepress on ontario just off st. denis that is having it installed this week i believe. i talked to the owner about a month ago and he said they were putting it in. free use.

only a matter of time to have global wireless high speed access. that will fucking rock - at the beach, or at the lake open your laptop and connected.

i look foward to that day :)

I was going to try the starbucks in Nottingham in the UK, but the fucking placed closed at 6 pm. On a Friday night!

A bar i go to quite a bit offers wifi connections but i've never used it since when i go to the bar its to get away from the computer. It is kind of funny seeing the college kids there though drinking beer and working on their homework or something online.

heh, when i used to have an office in Banff, i had wireless in the office, and it was right underneath The Rose and Crown pub. my wireless easily reached to the bar. you'd find myself and my employees up at the bar sipping a beer and working online at least once a week :)

was killer.
