Epassporte Suspends My Account

I called them and they said it is because my balance is above $5000.00 and that I needed to verify my information. I've had this account for OVER a year at epassporte. The balance has often been above $5000 and many times above $10,000. So why suddenly decide to "suspend" my account now. I use this account to get paid by sponsors specifically FlashCash. I use it for nothing else. I hope you get this fixed soon. I am not sure what "information" you need to verify but I cetainly hope you get this resolved soon.

I can email the account name to anyone at epassporte who wants it and who wants to help me resolve this.

I want my money!!!

I think this has to do with the Patriot Act.

Smokey The Bear  02-09-2004 01:04 PM

I wouldnt worry about it . Some other fellow had the same thing happen last week. They had him up and running a few hours later.

BUT !!!!!!!! this is EXACTLY why paypal sucks ass and why i left them.

Dont start doing this on a regular basis epassporte.

Trent Edison 02-09-2004 01:22 PM

Good thing if they are really trying to protect you. Otherwise they totally suck with that move.

loco12 02-09-2004 01:26 PM

Are they going the same way as Paypal?

As soon as you have your account suspended there you are fucked and will never see you money again!

Looks like epassport are learning from paypal how to rip off webmasters and make easy money.

Ash@phpFX 02-09-2004 01:34 PM

damn, and i thought this was an area they were getter than paypal

pradaboy 02-09-2004 01:40 PM

how should they know you are the person you signed up as? Faxing a copied ID/cc statement should do it... if you phoned them they probably told you what to do didn't they?

I hade the same shit with PayPal but I always got it solved, calling them does wonders. Don't go freaking right away, when you get a bank account at BankFirst they ask for your ID too right?

Take it easy :thumbsup

it wouldn't really be a big deal but the account is over a year old and I've been using it since day 1. dont you think that when epassporte first came out last year and I made 10K with flashcash over the first few months they would have done this then? i've been able to withdrawl up to $1000/day and have done so on several occations for the past year. suddenly they decide I need some protection?

btw, i haven't heard from anyone at epassporte yet....

no they are not. The TOS state very clearly, when you go ABOVE 5k$ you have to start proving who you are (scanned in passpord/drivers licence?). They have to do this to protect themselves against money laundring. Good move.

edit: to drunk to spell sorry

You should be using Beaver Pay.

Tax evasion is a crime.

Rand 02-09-2004 05:02 PM

ePassporte makes risk assessment decisions based on many factors. Some due to association and bank rules and some due to risk management protocols.

When an account reaches a balance of $5000.00 (U.S.), you are sent a notice to your ePassporte email box stating what you need to do to verify your account. You receive a 2nd email shortly thereafter which states your account will be suspended in 10 days if you do not verify. I'm guessing you had not checked your ePassporte email and missed the notices.

Check your ePassporte email and see it this is the case. Once you verify yourself there should be no problems reactivating your account.

Why have large amounts sitting in the account . I never had a problem when we used paypal because as soon as it went in it went out. These things arent banks people forget, they can go out of business tomorrow and you have no protection for your money its not a bank.

Kimmykim 02-09-2004 05:19 PM

I just got off the phone with one of your sponsors and have had an email from another this morning, can you email me directly please? It's either a mistake on our part or we need something very simple from you to make you active again immediately.

Thanks Kimmy

Actually I see your email, expect an answer asap. :)

I'd give props to the sponsors personally, two different ones got with me on this today and neither are small potatoes. Nice to see them taking time out of their day to work on something for their affiliates. :)

thePelican 02-09-2004 06:13 PM

I am sending my info. Realiaze I have NO PROBLEM with this and would have done it on day one. My PROBLEM lies in the fact that this just suddenly happened without warning. I did in fact look in my epassporte mailbox this morning and saw nothing. I did get the message when I login and that is all.

My Epassporte account has been above $5000 several times in the past so i question why this is just happening now. Today. not last week, not last month, not last year. Seems like someone just suddenly decided that my account needed this info. I totally agree that you need my info but why now and not before?

O well at least my account will be back on shortly....I hope.

Thanks to Brent from DollarMachine and DavidD from FlashCash for helping me to resolve this matter.

They are indeed the guys that contacted me today on your behalf, and they are both great for doing that in my book. I'd have been happy to help you anyway if you had emailed me directly but it really says alot about you when you get those two guys to intercede. I want to make sure we get this corrected asap so we can keep a good relationship -- my last email to you has my phone number in there if you need to give me a call. I also asked you a question in the email if you could let me know the answer to that as well :)

Thanks a bunch and sorry if there's a mishap here, I want to get it cleared up quickly for you --

Kimmy

* note to self ( remove your money from your epassporte account and leave $4000 in it. )

2 warnings actually, but still. I think they should be getting this information to begin with. ( not after the fact, once you have a nice lump of change. )

Maybe you could send out an email to all the users asking them to fill out the info incase your account goes over 5k , so it wont be suspended while your on vacation and have bills to pay and such ..

So if i go on a month vacation my epassporte account will be suspended until i get back if it reaches 5k while im gone ?? Then all my billing will also fail meaning all my shit gets turned off.

thePelican 02-10-2004 02:51 PM

My account is back to normal.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Kimmykim 02-10-2004 02:58 PM

I think (hope) Turboface is cleared up as well, if not please let me know Tf --

I've talked to thePelican on the phone, fantastically nice guy btw and I think we've figured out where the miscommunication was occurring.

Our IT dept is discussing a few things right now regarding the situation that will make it more likely not to happen the same way.

For now I'm glad we got you fixed up Pelican, save my number and if you have any problem in the future don't hesitate to use it. We like our good clients, but we also have to follow the rules that Visa sets out for us, and while we were a little bit more slack with them in the beginning, the volume we are doing now means that we have to be sticklers for the rules.

We do not suspend accounts for no reason, we do not suspend accounts just because they have money in them and we do not want to keep anyone from accessing and using their money, since you can be sure that money moving through the system is what helps us out, not money just sitting there doing nothing. :)
