False Domain Info May Mean Jail

Congress may crack down on businesses and people who provide false information when they register a website, proposing huge fines and extra jail time for those who violate copyright and trademark law.

Backers say the bill, known as the Fraudulent Online Identity Sanctions Act, targets only those who lie when submitting data to domain-registration databases and then go on to break federal laws.

Soon its gonna be on everything . Like they did with the Patriot Act . Fucking bullshit laws .

But actually for domain registration thats not a bad idea. But they just have to cut the bullshit for the rest .

hottoddy 02-08-2004 10:11 PM

So what? You have to break federal laws first before getting the additional charge of false domain info. So, you'd already be fucked - they're just gonna fuck you more.

pamphage 02-08-2004 10:13 PM

short-sighted attitude. i don't personally care either, but things like this are always a sign of the climate and should be noted

Too fucking funny!

Just use real info or don't break Federal Laws OR move to a country without those new bullshit laws.

NiTe-HaWk 02-08-2004 10:17 PM

I don't plan on breaking any laws so it shouldn't afect me but it is still good to know.

Basic_man 02-08-2004 10:30 PM

andi_germany 02-09-2004 02:09 AM

Most of you forget that if you are in online porn you are most likely already breaking any federal law

acctman 02-09-2004 02:11 AM

fuck the US and there attempts to control the internet. the US gov't does not own the internet.

waste tax payer money trying to verify everyone address and name on a domain

gin 02-09-2004 02:14 AM

naw .. laws aren't going to matter.. millions of $$$ to be made...

they are probably just fucking themselves.. everyone will have valid whois info now.. anyone could just whois someone's site.. find their addy.. and goto their house ... kick in the door and make them transfer the domain to some out of country name.. put a bullet in their head .. and then sell it.. sure seems alot easier then robbing a bank
