Is there a service like peapod in florida?
I have a friend who is disabled in Florida and was wondering if there was a food delivery service out there that I can sign him up to. I wanted to deliver his grocery's to him. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate your help.

The url does not load, and if that name is a joke, then it's a pretty sick one.

Jasmine, I did check peapod. They don't service his area. I was wondering if anyone knew of other similar services that may be in that area.

Smaller independant supermarkets might be willing to deliver. When I was in college, my roomates and I set up a deal with a local small grocery store where they'd deliver a wide variety of produce and meats for $20 a week... 4 full sized boxes worth of food. They picked a variety of stuff that would probably go bad in about 2 weeks (but was still very edible), sold it to us, and we ate it in... about 4-5 days :)
Further, there *has* to be a church in the area that can help out. Churches often do this kind of thing for people who can't get out much. Most cities have a webpage that includes businesses and churches in the area; check those out for leads. Good luck on helping your friend :thumbsup |
Try calling Publix in the area that he lives in. They are running a test program in South Florida that you do online shopping and they deliver to the house.
I am not sure that they will do anything but they usually try to help people. Their corporate offices are in Lakeland FL.. Good luck |
