Anybody know anything about Star Wars stuff. (Pic)

Not a very good picture. Looks much better then it does here but do you think it's worth anything? It came right off the set.

I've had the thing for years. My Dad's friend gave it to me for my birthday. He worked for Fox. Just curious...

myjah 02-08-2004 02:37 PM

ytcracker 02-08-2004 02:39 PM

if thats the original print its worth a few grand

im a huge star wars fan - i myself probably wouldnt pay that much for it but like i said if its not a reprint its worth big money hustlin
the fox line that went to movie theaters is pretty rare

Martin 02-08-2004 02:43 PM

It's the original print.n It's made from wood too.. I've never seen anything else like it.

put it on ebay, and see what you get for it. I might be interested if you want to sell it.

Vitasoy 02-08-2004 03:32 PM

Yea, I think it'll do well on ebay :)

Martin 02-08-2004 03:38 PM

Okay I'll see what kind of offers I get on it...

TweetyBird 02-08-2004 03:41 PM

Try to sell it on ebay :winkwink:

NetRodent 02-08-2004 03:54 PM

Look in the lower right corner. Notice the CBS FOX VIDEO logo? That's not an original poster from the ESB set. It was probably from a video store.

he has a point tho. none of my original movie posters say video on them, but all the ones my friend gave me from his video store do.

Martin 02-08-2004 04:10 PM

Maybe you're right who knows. I know it didn't come from a Video store... We'll see.. :)

Most of the old starwars stuff that is in really good shape will not go for more than a few hundred... But there is one out there that the studio will pay for...

And some of the collectors will pay even more..

About 6 months before Return of the Jedi came out, they released posters to advertise the movie. But they released them with the name Revenge of the Jedi. That was the name that they had planned on using at first.

The studio recalled them but did not get them all back. They were not sold to the public, just in the movie houses...

I think that the last offer for one of those was like 10K

:2 cents:

Who gives a shit, some space geek will pay big bucks for it anyway. Put that shit up on eBay:2 cents:

thekebie 02-09-2004 10:13 AM

CBS FOX thing was the first thing I noticed aswell, you may get a few hundred because it a nice rare poster, but not a few thousand.

Also the stupid "Space Geek" will notice right away, because he is a afterall.. a stupid space geek.

:2 cents:

i think 10k is a slight exaggeration, as the first version is worth 100-200 rolled and 50-100 folded, and the second version, released may 25 1983 sells for about 3/4 of that. also they were sold to the public, through the star wars fan club (at that time called the lucasfilm fan club)

so i dont know where you got you info from (pulled it out of your arse maybe?) but it is grossly inaccurate

i would still like to know more about this poster though, its definately a rare one, its the only ESB poster that i have seen without the ESB logo on it, a nice find! if i were you i would not sell it for less than a few hundred, until you find out more about it. can you tell me anything else about it? like anything in the small print?
