tricks for Canadians shopping on US-ONLY online stores

I was wondering if any of you fellow Canadians know of any ressources for this problem...

sometimes, it's hard to find an Online store that will ship to Canada... do any of you know of companies that you can have your items shipped to, then they ship it back to you?

or do you know any other tricks?

Do you guys have any idea what they call the service I'm looking for? I'm just browsing around www.mbe.com and can't find any info heh....

Great topic, I'm interested in this too... I don't have a problem getting items shipped from the states, but I don't like getting tacked with brokerage fees.

Where in Canada are you? Is it close to a state?

the Shemp 02-07-2004 10:44 PM

Its call remailing, or package forwarding.
Could be called virtual office services too.

Its not quite as simple as it sounds though, especially when
merchandise is involved. Cross border shipping, will still require customs papers to be prepared and a copy of the invoice as well. The shipment forwarder will charge you extra for that paperwork, for sure.

Man, just call one. You get a mailbox with them for x amount a month and tell them to send your mail to you on a set schedule. You can phone in and have them send stuff as it comes in as well. They are a shipping place as well so you can have them send your stuff regular post, fedex etc. Scammers have been using them for years. :1orglaugh

Or just get a trusty american friend to help you out

try avoid ups for delivery.. they always charge an extra brokerage fee which should have been already paid for.

Yes use FedEX or better yet UPS ground. On a packaged marked $100.00 expect to pay atleast $50.00 to UPS

Fedex does the same... it's usually with UPS (prolly ground I guess) that I never pay premiums...

with Fedex, I just paid 28$ on a package they valued at 100$
