Why dont these sites ever get busted.??

that has over 6000 copyrighted pics in its imagefolio...and gets like 1k Unique a day ..... how come its still up?

Do you get a warning for doing that before they sue??
and why havent they sued? :S theres like pics from playboy/hustler/ etc...

Someone just needs to send the host of the site a DMCA letter. Well that someone has to represent the copyright holder. The procedure is ussually defined at the given host. If not the procedure pretty much is either via the postal service (registered is best) or via a signed email.

The host notifies the customer to resolve it since the host does not want to be on the line for a lawsuit. Then the customer has so many days to remove all of it or show just cause ect.

Unless of course they happen to be hosted in a few countries then good luck.

But you can report them.

there is often no point in suing the owner of the site, he's got no money. Going after the host, sponsor, etc is much better and will usually get a quick response. he has a lot to lose and is noy going to argue, he will pull the site.

But wh here has ever been asked to show proof they own the content on their site, when getting hosting, sponsor or payment processing?

Who here gets a signed license from the content provider for everything they buy?

We're asked to sign a license on 1 in 5 of the sales we make.

No you are not and the law does not require a warning be sent. The infringed party may march your ass directly into court and win without giving you a warning. The premises are:

- Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
- You know/knew that you did not take the images, own the content, or contract for the lease, sale, or use of the same.

It's no different than any other crime . . . if you run a red light and don't get caught it's still a violation and/or crime. If you don't get caught you feel like a million bucks and will most likely do it again and again until you do get caught. When you do get caught and the ticket is hundreds of dollars you start to ponder perhaps it was not worth it. Of course the situation could be worse as you could get caught by a semi instead of a trooper running that red light.

Probably no onw knows that.

The japanese content is a different story.. grey area if you will..
