Keeping track of productivity without trading script

Is it possible to keep track of productivity for certain trades without using a trading script? I am talking hardlinks here.

Apache module perhaps?

:helpme

well, you would just have to record the outs something like:

http://www.url.com/link?out=http://www.out.com/

and record the ins via your logs. Then get a script to calculate ins/outs

Maybe it's their little secret. I have no skim, but a few blind links. I'd like to track the non-skimmed galleries and get rid of the link syntax so the page will be more SE friendly. :Graucho

Incoming links really arent an issue, you can count productivity using a SSI.

Outgoing links present the problem. A true hard-link will make no further query to your server telling it that a hit was made (uses the same code as an exit popup). There might be some hahahahahahahahahaha hack that executes on exit to hit your server though i dont know of any.

Im interested to know if anyone has solved this one, as it really affects all of our PR capability to be running through scripts instead of hard links.

Good question! :thumbsup

Great find hyper! And no link syntax in front of the links is necessary?

dont know sherm, you have to look script by script.
you might have to always have to put somekind of link syntax if your counting outgoing clicks, because you will need to dump the info into mysql somehow

i found this to using .htaccess
then you can track it in your regular stats program

actually I know how to do this, Lane came up with a fuckin smart solution a while back, I'd just need someone to code it for me ;-)

This would even run the best hitbot into tears. :glugglug

Good read Hyper... These all seem like doable solutions. I appreciate the searches, as well as the Insurnce search you did for me the other day. You're a class act! :thumbsup

Also...Equinox...If you find somebody to code this solution, please let me know. I'm very interested as well.

A real quick solution if you open links in a new window:

Just use a jscript that catches clicks and onclick reloads a pixel-sized image that is actually a php script that counts the click.
