Why does your city rock?

Convince me why your city is the best and why I should move there... !
Just put my place on the market so if anyone is interested in a 1 bdrm condo in Vancouver hit me up. Trying to decide where i want to check out, so tell me how your crime rate is down... how cheap the cigs are... how ripe the real estate market is...

I'm NOT interested in NY, LA, and Washington DC, or europe, or anywhere super cold like Iceland.

Lykos 02-07-2004 10:13 AM

San Diego -- you get the great So Cal weather (its gonna be 72 today) but without the LA smog, traffic, high cost, and the LA scum.

Plus there is a big group of webmasters here in SD (do a GFY search for them). And LA is only a 2.5 hour drive away, and I do not need to tell you how many adult biz peep arein LA.

I do not see why anybody would want to live anyplace else.

maja 02-07-2004 12:11 PM

wow... i big Canadian nickel.... did u know the worlds largest hockey stick (puck included) is in Duncan, BC?

I haven't been to San Diego yet... but heard lots of good things about it... how's the real estate market there? i'm gonna peep that...

how bout some plugs from the Dirty South?

JunkyardDog 02-07-2004 12:14 PM

strats 02-07-2004 12:14 PM

nothing!! it's great here... but i was born and raised here and i've never lived anywhere else... ever... i've just been feeling the urge to go and explore, meet new ppl. I'm sure i'll end up coming back one day.. if it hasn't gotten too busy and metropolitan after the olympics 2010.

Hey Maja... that sucks the balls to hear. Stay in Canada though. Maybe try Toronto or Montreal.

Well I'm going to go cry now.

Moondog 02-07-2004 06:44 PM

I have done enough travelling around North America with pro wrestling tours to realize Vancouver is by far probably the nicest city to live in. You want a change of scenery move to north Burnaby in a quiet part of town.

Las Vegas!

24 Hour food, low cost of living prices, a buyers market when purchasing homes, always something to do, entertainment all around you, awesome areas away from the strip to live in, a steady influx of fresh tourist women and great drink prices all around! :thumbsup

gazool 02-07-2004 06:51 PM

Because I can leave my car unlocked with the keys in the egnition, and not worry about it :)

New York City !!! Our city is the best because our city can kick your city's ass !!! (I have that refrigerator magnet) :) I used to hate New York when I wasn't living here. Now I've been here for the past 7 years and I hate it when I'm away.

GonePhishing 02-07-2004 08:12 PM

I'm from Chicago, but it doesn't rock to me. I am not a fan of the city!

quiet 02-07-2004 08:13 PM

maja 02-08-2004 01:33 AM

hey moondog! cool, who were you wrestlin with? i actually took um pro-wrastling lessons and loved it but was getting sooooo bruised. oh and dizzy from landing on my head one too many times, lol. but it is one entertainment i do want to persue one day... along with boxing and about oh a dozen others....

My residential place is in Burnaby already!! I've been just getting really restless for the last while... for years i wanted to homestead but now i realised it's not my time to do that yet... the isolation would make me weider than i normally am... but i do want a total change of scenery... and i have some unhealthy facination with the US.

I know i've got it good here with our healthcare, safety, etc... but i think i just need to get away... and a vacation won't do it...

now i'm second guessing myself, lol.

slipkid 02-08-2004 01:41 AM

Most NYC people would ask if there is any city other than NYC. Nothing really compares... however I happen to loathe it so based on my travels to almost every city in our lovely country I would recommend:

Boston
Austin

And in Canada:
Montreal.

As for convincing... too much to type. =]

You get used to the weather, and I've never had a nosebleed. Get out here... You'll love it! Just know that you'll have a very hot summer, but if you go out at night, it's beautiful for BBQ's!
