Not that I'm aware of Rick.

I'm almost positive. I remember clearly reading about it in Red Herring. Maybe they had just done a Mezzanine round of financing on Sand Hill Road or something.

There is a story there and I'm going to find it.

By the way, you still need to email me about your boob domain.

Thanks Richie.

Just working the grind like everyone else, but with a few more zeros at the end of everything.

Ties in perfectly with our other acquisition.

Let me know if you do. I'm fairly certina it wasn't ever part of an IPO.

I'm gonna be keeping that good boob domain I have by the way.

Jer 02-06-2004 07:01 PM

Very nice! Good luck.

Rick Latona 02-06-2004 07:01 PM

Ah shit. I'm thinking of gay.com. Nevermind. You still got a great catch there though!

Gay.com says lifestyle, Gays.com says "hey look at those gays" IMHO.

Hey believe me I've been through the battlefields of this and other industries. Its a lot easier to pickup and learn stuff from guys that have been through the trenches before. You can't learn real experience in a classroom.

I do the same thing with the guys I meet in their 50's, 60's, and 70's who can teach me their business techniques, tips and tricks.

A lot of guys think they know it all once they do well. I've always believed you can never learn enough. Things change. No way can you keep up with it all. You have to constantly learn and listen and find genuinely decent guys that have done things you haven't who will share knowledge with you.

Read business magazines, industry reports, studies, and all that kind of stuff. You'll get a wealth of info, ideas, find deals, network, etc.

I've spoken with the CEO of Gay.com prior to this deal. We're going to be doing some things with them for the other one.

I have good friends that are gay btw and they are all the same to me as my straight friends. I don't discriminate if that's what you were thinking. I also support the right for a gay couple to marry and have the same legal rights as everyone else.

thats not what i was implying.

i was stating that its not the most pc term in the world.

im sure the site will do fine simply because of keyword placement and your marketing. but 'gays' as a word comes across very negative to the gay community. :2 cents:

gay is not equal to gays. different words with different implications.

gays is plural. its like saying "look at those gays over there"

no straight person could ever understand, sorry.

Dawgy, btw we're also going to be utilizing the site for more than just gay adult entertainment, and will be providing both financial and politcial support to further the rights of gay men and women.

If you have any organizations, links, etc. please forward them to me so we can include them in the site's political action section.

Thanks!

misconceptions?

i agree, in the end, its just a word.
gays. fags. ******s. wetbacks. spiks. etc.

just stating my opinion as one of these 'gays'
that gay people may initially have a
less-than-positive reaction to it. :2 cents:

Exactly. That's the "twist" of what we're doing here.

Changing the negative to a positive. And helping to further the end of the disciminatory attitudes and opinions towards the gay community.

The right wingers need a bigtime wakeup call that you can not isolate, discriminate and have prejudicial policies and laws simply based on one's sexual preference and orientation.

This outdated attitude has to be chucked out to pasteur like all their other extreme fundamentalist opinions on sexuality.

let me take a stab at it...

does it imply or connote that someone from 'outside' the gay community is referring to the gay community?

ala ArchieBunker-esque?

and if so, what is the more pc term to refer to the gay community collectively?

just curious...

PS: Kick ass score KRL! I'm sure it is a great addition to the current project you're working on...
