Bush disapproval rating now higher than his approval rating

Bush's approval rating stood at 47 percent in the AP-Ipsos poll taken in early February, down from 56 percent approval just a month ago. Half, or 50 percent, said they disapproved in the latest poll.

Bush's 47 percent approval rating is the same as his father's at this stage in his presidency 12 years ago before he lost to Bill Clinton.

Just under four in 10, 37 percent, said they would definitely vote to re-elect Bush as president, while 43 percent said they would definitely vote for someone else, according to the poll conducted for the AP by Ipsos-Public Affairs. Another 18 percent said they would consider voting for someone else.

The sooner Bush and Blair goes the better. A phony war, as far as most in the UK think, and Blair is fighting a loosing battle and will be gone with good riddance to bad rubbish.

Nicki C 02-06-2004 02:05 AM

Sad to say this but bush will win again:(

I'm looking forward to 4 years of you praising the Democratic president because Republicans believe that saying anything critical of the president is treason.

You will have to kiss Kerry's ass for all four years when he wins, or you will "hate America". :1orglaugh

Another example of the Right Wingers getting very nervous that their grip on America's testicles is about to be removed come 1/20/05!

The Truth Hurts 02-06-2004 04:18 AM

For you silly asshats and your misguided assumptions, I'm from Massachusetts and we all love John Kerry, but should he be the nominee, he will lose.

I say that not because of any nervousness, but because I happen to live in the real world, not fantasy fucking island.

Oh good rebuttle... let's see...

there's cold hard facts presented from the news....

I know, I'll argue back with tales of a fantasy land, that'll win the argument!

Which cold hard facts would those be?

Poll numbers?:1orglaugh

Bush has a card up his sleeve (Osama), he will play it , it'll get him elected again.

Funny, I seem to recall that any time a poll result came in to Bush's favour, the Republicans couldn't wait to post about how great he is, and how much the people loved him..... and now it's just silly poll results that reflect nothing, correct?

anyway, if they suddenly pull Bin Laden out of a hole just in time to be re-elected, and the American people believe it... then I'll be quite saddened by the intellect of the American people. Not that I haven't been already through this whole ordeal.

Cold hard facts about what?

There are no cold hard facts that indicate that he will lose the election in 2004.

The article does indicate that if the election were today he might lose, but you can't even go that far because no alternative has been presented.

Read whatever you want into the story...

what are you talking about? Where in my post did I ever say I questioned the validity of poll results before? I haven't... they do have a margin of error, but largely reflect the greater whole... regardless of who's winning.

If Bush happens to be winning, I never once questioned whether a poll was accurate, instead... I question the intelligence of sheep who vote for a president who has caused so much harm to their country.

And broke, same goes to you.... I never once said there were cold hard facts that he'd win the election. I said he was answering to facts with tales of fantasy land. Where do you see the word "election" ?? Stick to the topic at hand... poll results.

Sheesh, no wonder you guys are so easily conned by your own gov't. You don't even know how to read.

Which harm is that exactly?

The deficit? :1orglaugh

Deficit is just as meaningless as the paper "surplus" we supposedly had.

Sorry, I haven't had the prerequisite lobotomy to read anything of length on Rense.

The picture on the front page with the play on the word Republican is comical though, considering you just had a laugh at me for doing that very same thing.

Republicrat? Uhmm... that's combining the two. Hardly a play on the word Republican... if it is, it's just as much a play on the word Democrat. And not a good "play" on it.

Secondly, you don't have prerequisite labotomy to read his stuff, yet you still take the time to go check out the site and read up the logo on the front page despite me linking you to a page of nothing but text. Kinda hypocritical aren't ya? Doing one thing and coming back and saying another?

Seriously, that's pretty slack ass response dude. Truth of the matter is... Truth... every single one of those points is accurate, and correctly reflects Bush's life and.. ahem... achievements.

And since you couldn't discount them, you decided to play 3rd grader and go "yeah well, what ever, I don't feel like reading that stuff anyway."

Good on you... way to prove me wrong bud. You win this one hands down. I can't compete with the likes of you.

I'm goin to bed.

I know you didn't type the word 'election' -- so try to follow along here...

The main theme of the post to which responding is that these poll results notwithstanding -- none of the democratic candidates had a chance in the 2004 elections.

You turn around and say the following in attempt to discredit that theme --

"there's cold hard facts presented from the news...."

Either (a) you were using these polls to dispute the validity of the aforementioned claim or (b) you weren't.

If it's (b) I guess this is where I should add my own --

"Oh good rebuttle..."

Uhmm... no. A poll doesn't reflect the results of an election 8 months into the future. I wish it did, because I'd be happy to celebrate Bush's retirement now. A poll reflects the approval rating of a president at the present time. That is what is presented here... has nothing to do with the election.

If you think it does, you shouldn't try to pretend you know anything about politics.

Paul Markham 02-06-2004 05:04 AM

The only thing that amazes me is why his ratings are as good as they are WTF has he done in the least four years to warrant it.

Other than send the worlds best army to invade a couple of third world nations. Nothing to actually be proud of.

The logo is a quick read.
I've been there before.

So prove them wrong then... at least a few. Come on. I'm sure it would be easy for someone like you.

here, prove this one wrong:
"I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record."

how about this one:
"I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history."

Maybe this one:
"I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission."

Any of them? Maybe one?
Oh, I know... this one should be easy...
"I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available."

Jesus Christ -- all of us are saying the same fucking thing.

It's a poll. It's a poll that speaks poorly of the administration AT THE MOMENT. That's what and all it is...

Why you used the words "cold hard facts" to describe poll results in an attempt to discredit someone who essentially said "democrats can't win in 2004" -- I'll never know (nor do I care).

I called you on that fact and here we are arguing with each other while both saying the same fucking thing.

I'm done here.

Have a nice day. :)
