Unlimited Free Calling WorldWide???
Has anyone ever heard of Skype (Skype.com)?
The creators of Kazaa have created a system, now in Beta, that will give people free phone calls WORLD-WIDE. Apparently, these guys are planning on charging only for things like call-waiting, caller ID etc? No more fixed monthly bills, long distance or otherwise. I opened an account, but I can't really figure out how to use it yet! |
There's a catch somewhere
|
There's not! Check it out...I just put down the article in Fortune; these guys are planning on taking down the Telecom Giants.

There is usually a catch with such things. But if you get all your friends and family to use it as well, sure could be a good money saver.

Of course you'll have to have a Skype account, but as long as you have a computer connected to the internet, you don't need to pay for phone lines, or long distance.
The newer generation cell-phones are virtually computers, and come complete with Microsoft Windows...Imagine, all you would have to pay for is Internet connection time to call anywhere. Many cell phone plans will offer you unlimited internet connection, and will charge you solely on how much you download... |
The way I see it, these guys put a huge dent in the music industry; they are looking to do the same with a much, much larger industry....
The fortune aritcle stated that these guys are in hiding now due to the risk of being clobbered with litigation; while running around in eastern europe, they are developing this system...These guys are 'virtual Rogues'. |
Nifty program, hope more people start using it!
|
you can do it using voice over IP real easy
|
I can say one thing for sure; if you hold Telecom stock, better keep an eye on these guys or guys like these :winkwink:
