To those in the USA and Canada

To those in the USA and Canada

What is the most popular sport in your county? I would suspect it being one of the following:

USA football
Baseball
Ice hockey
Basketball

I am just interested.

In the UK they have tried to make some sports more American, such as Rugby. Leeds rugby union is now call Leeds Rhinos (or something like that), and Cricket, they now wear more colofull outfits.

As far as TV ratings go, it would be bewteen USA Football and NASCAR Racing.

Montreal
Popular : Hockey
Worst : Baseball

football is popular too (CFL)

but I like both and follow them both.

We get a lot of this on UK ch5, but its on very late (1am onwards).

Sport always seems more exciting in the US and Canada.

I did love to watch the winter Olympics. It was the first time I had seen Ice Hockey, and thought it was cool. Canada won if I remember.

The only problem is seeing the 'hock' or whatever that thing they hit is called on my 14 inch TV.

I think if I was in the US I would be a base ball fan, as that seems most fun, and I think Iunderstand the rules, while, I just never get the rules of American football.

Baseball is a sport that anyone seems to be able to play, while basket ball, you need to be very tall, and football(American) very big. But baseball seems like a sport for all.

in new york, every sport is popular. all of our teams either rock, or they suck. and we have 2 teams to every sport pretty much.

the only thing that sucks is that soccer isn't more popular(MLS) it still can't compete with the bigger sports here

I'd say you got them right.

soccer

I know UK soccer (or what we call football) is not very popular in the US, but I would say, its better played in the US than in the UK (from what I have seen on TV). I do not mean by this you are more skilled at the game (I am no fan so I would not know), but its seems to be played more fun. In the UK, its still a boys only game which only the best players in a school can play, but what I have seen on TV, both boys and girls play it. I would say the kids in the US seem to have far more fun playing than in the UK where its taken too seriously, and there is no fun in it. I do hope that the US way of playing the game will take off more in the UK.
