Read some of her other articles about her mother and you wonder how the fucking system has failed SO bad. I see people who are good parents that have CAS all up their back because they're on hard times or someone wants to be a hahahaha and report them for revenge, and they have their kids taken away over bullshit.. Yet children in homes like this have to deal with shit and abuse every day with no hope of anything being different...

Makes me want to cry.. I live my life to make sure my children have a good life, partially because of shit like that..

the system will ALWAYS fail because mankind creates the system.

<IMX> 02-05-2004 04:10 PM

That's very disturbing. Sounds a bit much though...

Head 02-05-2004 04:26 PM

I'm speechless!

tootie 02-05-2004 04:31 PM

Oh my god... unbelievable. Where are the child protective services in cases like this? I personally know lots of people who went through terrible abuse and NONE of them were ever helped, yet I also know several people who have almost lost their children over NOTHING. Terrible. Just terrible. :(

My oldest son's GF of three years went through some terrible shyt when she was younger. Back and forth with CPS and each time she'd end up back with her mother, until her mother ended up in jail for drug-related stuff. Then she spent years bouncing from adolescent facility to foster home to psych ward to foster home. She finally settled in to one foster home for 5 years. Things seemed to smooth out but she still bore the scars of the previous years. Now at the age of 18, the system boots her out of foster care. The 'mother' that she's known for 5 years who made all sorts of promises to "always be there" has turned into a controlling, whining, immature bitch. To top it off she's jealous of the relationship her 'daughter' and I have built while she's been throwing her tirades. I think the last straw may have been today when the mother was supposed to meet with the daughter at her counselor's office. After being all goodness and light over the phone with the counselor yesterday, she was a no-show. The counselor has told her to write her off. That hopefully one day she'll come around.

That leaves an 18 year old scared girl on her own with school and a part time job to try to fend for herself with no one to back her up. She feels as tho she's once again lost a mother. She's clinging to me for fear that I might be next to go and my son is so jealous it makes matters worse.

These kids aren't just messed up for a year or two. It affects their entire life.

Absolutely unreal. She's lucky to find someone like you who cares though. I hope you can help her out, PK :)

I have a cousin with the same story and he turned to violence and killed someone.

he is in jail for 25 to life and his mom used to lock him in the closet and not feed him. he was regularly beaten and his mom used to get him to steal from stores as a child until he was a teen and it continuied... she used him as a partrner... what a mom.

i ask, who really is to blame?

meanwhile he rots in a cell barely 21.

and more than 23 years to go.

You're welcome.. and actually it is a good site. Hard to believe the woman who writes it is only 21 or something like that.. Amazing writer, and some crazy life experiences.

I like this girl.

PreciousB 02-05-2004 08:13 PM

I have seen cases around here where a mother or father was killed and babies are left there with the bodies for days or weeks on end.

It's terrifying but it's real. In cases like that you want to help but no one can help. That shit happens everyday. It's reality.

I feel for the person that told the story and hope that the person and the brother have better lives now than they could have ever dreamed of.

Very sad.
