What are you going to be selling IMX? If you just have a few products & plan to use paypal, I might have a real simple solution for you.

rich219content 02-05-2004 02:10 PM

zencart is a nice mod of oscommerce

I'm starting with only 4-5, but I need the system to look enterprise level. I'm also going to use at least two processors.

What's your paypal sol'n? I might use it for my ebay sales :)

Check out Arch Software, they can pretty much do anything you want, but to see a sample of one of their carts you can go here :)

Paypal has a built-in shopping cart system.

oscommerce is fine if u want to set one shop up... but if u want to set up lots of shops with different designs its a pain in the ass... design elements are stored in lots of different places and lacks any real template support

after doing a few shops all i can say is oscommerce sucks... i havent found an alternative OS shop at the moment... rather use my own custom code and build on that

Try sourceforge.net

There's a few mods around that makes templates in oscommerce pretty simple.

BTS (basic template structure) seems to be the best mod for that. Makes giving the site a totally unique look a breeze. It only becomes a bit of a pain in the ass when you also add a shit load of other mods like the affiliate mod etc simply because you have to manually change the look of each new mod page (hope that makes sense).

However, once you have one running smoothly I generally find I can knock up another unique looking site with an empty cart in about 2 hours, once I've designed a template and graphics to work with. Just a matter of copying everything across and changing a few bits here and there :)
