I've realized that alot of us are very young.

Alot of people I have talked to don't seem to realize how lucrative online porn can be. They say that there are "millions" of porn sites..can't make money... blah blah blah..:321GFY

Do you tell people you are in the porn business?

So what do you say?

Depends on who is asking. There is a time and a place for everything... and sometimes its not a great idea to tell people what you do for a living...

I was at a funeral this morning, and my mother was introducing me to many people that have not seen me since I was a child.

The work question seems to come up a lot. Not sure how i'd handle it if didnt still have my 9-5.

I thought of many things you could say... Internet Business, Internet Marketing Business, Webmaster... but that's all gravy until they ask more about it in detail.

well i tell them the truth, that i am a photographer. But that leads to "Oh what do you take pictures of". Then I say nude, and the shit hit's the fan from there....lol

I just started dating this girl outside the biz and was honest with her from the start on what I do. (I was actually wearing my PornKings.com hat when I met her...haha..) She is always asking questions about it......I think she thinks its cool.

There are some you tell and some you dont. When I dont want to tell that particular person, I tell them I am in the technology business.

people who aren't in the industry usually make it out to be more than it is. even if your job is porn, it's still a job.

It depends who ask's me! And if I care and if it will affect anybody I know. For example, I don't want to fuck with my roommates relationship with his parents, and since they are cool with me, I've never told them that I was in the adult industry. Number 1 reason, their Jahova's Witnesses (Spellcheck :Graucho ).

There are a few reason why I won't tell a few people, but everybody in my family knows!

I tell people I'm an Internet marketing/advertising consultant.

That's it.

My family knows what I do. Hell, Mom works for Tev and I, who are in this business together...Tev being my honey guy.

But, the outside world? No.

Living in Georgia for three years taught me to shut up about what I do.

same here, if somebody asks what I do I tell them.. most are more interested than offended

I tell my friends what I do, but I tell other people that I am in the online entertainment business.
most of my friends want me to show them how to make money doing what i do.

I usually just tell people I run an advertising agency which of course is what I do.

well I do adult and mainstream stuff...I say "internet developer" "graphic designer" not lying but I would rather not go into detail...some people just dont get it, if I owned a video store and had an adult section nobody would say anything but promoting porn on the internet changes the way some people look at you

You always get the stupid questions like....
Is that legal?, Can you get me laid? etc etc
sometimes i think it'd be easier to say 'i rob banks for a living'

I find if you start talking technical about scripting, servers and bandwidth
then they soon change the subject of what you do

My friends know what I do for a living, but when someone else asks me I usually just say I work in the computer business. Most people change the subject because they don't know much technical stuff about computers

Ha ha, I get the same thing with a couple of people, now that they know what I do, every time I see them, they ask how the business is going to get back on the subject again, then they throw in the immoral bullshit all over again, ha ha ha.

I hold nothing back if somebody asks i tell them i work in the adult industry, but some people get the wrong idea so i take minute to explain.

Exactly, most of my close friends know but I doubt they understand it. But then again my parents don't know, they think I'm a web designer, luckily they don't know how to use a computer! :thumbsup

Contract web interfaces/sql designer - which is really what I've done for 10 years. Only my wife knows. Even my closest friends aren't told because they are all just stupid enough, or get drunk enough, to say something in front of my kids. Wife was really against it until I started making $200-$300 a day in just a month or 2.

Alot of people here arent in the porn industry, they are in the online marketing industry. Thats why they get excited about naked pics posted or naked girls at industry shows. lol I see naked models up close at least once a week so its no big thrills for me lol. We tell everyone except my aunt and uncle and my parents friends out of respect for my parents.

The reason I started this post is because I haven't figured out how to explain this to people. For one, I'm in college. So my friends don't see me as an entrepreneur they see me as someone who sits infront of the computer. They all doubt me simply because they don't understand. Now, I tell all my good buddies and half of them get on my site very often. Even at masturbation time (3 am)... They all think it's cool but it's kind of a joke too.

My parents know and support it strongly.

but, when I make new friends I'm afraid that if I tell them they might call me out about it infront of people that might become very judgemental towards me. I don't want to have a bad reputation because some people don't understand.

The more religious or conservative the person is the more pornographic my job becomes. If it's a friend I just "sell porn", a religious zelout I "Sell naked titties, and hardcore gangbang video's to horny people worldwide".

I find it really gets rid of the losers quickly so I can concentrate on talking with the cool people.
