LOL!

The Darkness are HUGE here in the UK, they broke last year at Glasto and it all went mental.

Personally I don't know how serious to take them though.

They played the Big Day Out also. Much better than Metallica. It was just a shame that they played really early in the day.

They are cool, light hearted stuff, good to listen to guitar riffs in the mainstream again.

Saw them live at the Cockpit in Leeds was a small gig, had a lot of fun that nite!

heheh yeah it's a funny situation.. people don't know whether they're taking the piss and being ironic or actually serious.. but it's one of those rise to fame stories that's pretty cool.. the right thing at the right time done the right way.. i mean.. they're catchy so that helps :).. and even though they prance around in leopard print lycra they don't have the same tough guy attitude..

SykkBoy 02-04-2004 06:11 PM

They are a lot of fun and I feel they're just having fun with the gig...a nice little throwback to the days of cock rock...

Sarah_Jayne 02-04-2004 06:25 PM

they are excellent live and keep in mind that they are doing it all with a sense of humour.

Man, I am always a head of the game. I posted this - http://gofuckyourself.com/showthread...hreadid=167079 in August and no one replied :)

johnuk 02-04-2004 06:30 PM

A couple of mates of mine saw them support some other band a couple of years ago and came back saying they had just seen the worst band ever!

TiGrrPrr 02-04-2004 06:31 PM

Molecular genetics strikes again.
No brindle fly here, just a glamrock, Queen, hair band.

Sarah_Jayne 02-04-2004 06:35 PM

well a couple of years ago is a long time in a band's history and time for lots of playing lessons. Plus opening acts almost always suck even of they are a good band. They are never using the best sound and you are just want them to get off the stage anyway. I think I only ever saw one opening act I liked and they never said their name on stage - oops.

get the album....in my view the best songs from it haven't been released yet. One because it is nothing but the f word (though I think they are working on a radio cut) and the other one I can't think of the name but involves them singing about dancing on a friday night.

dailyduke 02-04-2004 06:48 PM

The first song is garbage IMHO :BangBang:
however catchy b/c of the whole glam metal high pitched voice

in the video, is that outfit for real????

icedemon 02-04-2004 07:20 PM

Looks more like a late 70s pop rock band.
