Why paying for porn when there is a lot of it for free?

Does anyone have stats how many people pay for porn? As far as I know in shareware game industry it's about 1% - one of 100 people downloaded the game pays for it. I think for utilities shareware software it's even more...

But how many people of those who watch free porn buy it? I doubt that now it's even near 0.01% not saying about 1%.

And many of TGP owners keep making more rules like "more pics and movies and bigger and better" (and BTW I think the Hun is much more smart in this point than many others). Yeh, dump more free porn so eventually nobody buys it at all. Then came and complain that you have terrible convertion rate...

This depends on sources of your traffic. Sometimes it's much better to get 2000 uniques of good traffic (SE, AVS etc) rather getting 1000 times more of shitty TGP traffic. The 2nd one will just burn out your bandwidth but will not bring you money. When I want to sell I sponsor, I do this from AVS. The people there have money and ready to spend it on porn. So I still wonder why some people still trying to sell anything from FREE TGP traffic... IMHO this looks like some sort of masochism...
