On one hand they are trying to help pornographers, that is, us.

On the other hand they have this fucking lame "tip" in their tip window that says:

Tip: Free adult content generally requires an email address that the Adult Merchant will market pay services to, or spam.

Now that's really positive and presents us in a postive way doesn't it?

They're trying to help themselves. Almost every site was an affiliate link of their own to a sponsor. It's just milking the publicity and Google playing right into it, by giving them more.
