This is why you just can't trust the government with our money.
Look at this BS. And this is on a local level. Imagine what goes on in Washington DC.
Some of the expense items for the past week paid by our local city government council. $7,900,000 to improve the west library. $156,775 to improve the sand on a local beach. $120,000 for Bleach. $59,680 for an inflatable boat. $58,799 for scuba tanks. $48,392 for a new swing set at the children's park. $30,472 for a new golf course lawn mower. What the fuck. $48,000 for a swing set. This I have to go and see. What an abuse of the taxpayer's money. :BangBang: |

This is why I said the problem is not tax cuts or tax increases. We're all equal citizens rich and poor and a flat tax is in order for everyone. The government just needs to learn how to spend the fucking money, not that we need to pay more or whatever the hell they dream up.
On a flat tax spent responsibly we could easily still provide health care and everything else we need to provide, but they can't spend responsibly and that's the real problem. |

KRL.. I've been saying this stuff for over two years. I'm looking in as an outsider at the moment and it's kinda "in-your-face" that there is one serious problem.
I kept hoping *someone* would come along and bunk this lot cos it's painful watching this facade and the destruction. It's not as though folks in the US are that well off these days - the economic damage is enormous. |

Heck, I'd sell them a swing-set for just $45,000

How much are scuba tanks? $58K sounds like someone made out on that also.

Kind of makes all that stuff seem like small potatoes doesn't it? Personally, I'd rather see money spent on the library. |
