How did becoming a Pornmeister save your ass?

If it wasn't for pornmeistering, how many of you would be dick broke, in jail, chased by the cops for vagrancy or worse?

What did you do that 'made' you?

Quatermain 02-03-2004 12:24 AM

I was pretty dumb about computers. Then I learned you could get porn on them. 3 years later now I am a system administrator.

modelgigtalent 02-03-2004 12:27 AM

I would still be with my ex girlfriend who hated it even if I looked at a Maxim magazine.

:ak47:

ROFL!!! That's the exact reason I asked. I remember back in the early and mid 90s when puter dudes were gettin fired left and right. Actually lotsa people were getting fired left and right. Losing their homes, no medical care, having to give up their kids in court fights.

Then along came online porn.

Now they're drivin' ferraris, own homes, have braces.

No one else came to their rescue so they did what anybody else facing the 'Kobyashi Maru' no-win scenario did:

They cheated. :)

Morgan 02-03-2004 12:34 AM

I was driving one of my dad's big rigs, delivering meat to restraunts and grocery stores for his meat company. Then, I started making more than he did, payed him back everything I owed him for hard times and quit.

Chris 02-03-2004 12:36 AM

I would have a 9-5 job being semi happy

sometimes i wonder what the 9-5 is like now adays

I kinda miss it ? :( :helpme

Rorschach 02-03-2004 12:46 AM

How is doing porn cheating? In some ways it's easier than the 9-5, but to make decent money you've really got to work your ass off.

Not trying to be a smart ass.. But I sure as hell
Don't miss getting up early so that I can make someone else rich.

Now that's what I call a success!

I like to read about people who just said fuck it and went for the whole nine yards. It means one more person who's not a slave to the machine.

In this country, if you finally clear $250k for your pocket after taxes etc. you can build an empire if you invest in your talents and good real estate.

Glad someone else got wise! This is the only business where if you make good friends, work smart not hard and don't get stupid you can lay away enough dough to retire on. Then if you want to work a 9-5 you can but because you 'want' to not because you 'have' to.

That's what I had to realize. I would see people from other countries come here dick broke and in a few years they were owning top homes and driving great cars. It's because they knew what it was that they were supposed to do, save, invest, keep rollin'.

RhiannonBray 02-03-2004 01:13 AM

I do ok for myself and I'm happy! I have alot to learn about the webmaster and affiliate side but so far so good. Getting into the industry was a great idea and im glad i did it. I used to be in the Army, sold cars, Car mechanic.... Lord only knows what else I'de be doing! Porn allows me to finish my degree...... maximum money plus smallest amount of time spent working equals more time for school, studying, learning the production side of porn, distribution and blah blah. Cuz when i grow up I want to be a Pornagrapher <wink wink>

Yah, all true..
Its not just making mad cash its knowing what to do with it once you have it. Look at all the celebs that have become became overnight successes then end up working at 7-11 a few years later. MC Hammer for one.. :)

I'm trying to figure out now.. how much is enough. Can a person ever have enough money? What figure is needed to retire on.. I guess it depends on your lifestyle. But I don't want to end up very rich and very old and realize i worked my life away.

Money is a confusing thing to figure out for sure...

I know one thing.. its smart to have goals them work towards them.

irishfury 02-03-2004 01:37 AM

Well I still do work a normal job I like the security I make decent off this I started in 98-00 made a killing decided to go back to school. Having a harder time now days making as much money but I make a nice amount though I'm working about 16 hours a day so I run on E at all times.

madsender 02-03-2004 01:44 AM

A normal job provides security but your still limited to what you can make. Its pre-determined. This business has unlimited potential if you can come up with the right ideas.

I find myself sounding like that Don Lupree guy sometimes on the late night infomercials. "I went from a one bedroom apt to making millions" hehe.. Who is to say what the best way to go is.. its different for everyone.

My friends shit there pants though if they catch a glimpse of my stats and see i made more in a week then they do all year at a 9-5. Now they all wanna do what I do.. instead of making comments like "You can never make a living doing that" :1orglaugh

Mr Pheer 02-03-2004 02:42 AM

I was an air traffic controller before this so I think i would be doing ok if this hadnt come along.

This is way less stressful though

beemk 02-03-2004 02:50 AM

i would be working hard at a different job

MrPheer, ATC is a scary freakin' job! It's like a real video game but you don't get extra lives!

pornJester 02-03-2004 06:38 AM

I'd probably have a 9-5 type corporate job. Thanks pornmeistering :thumbsup

Yep, the two side effects of chronic pornmeistering are fat pockets and fat asses. :)

BlackCrayon 02-03-2004 09:13 AM

i'd probably being working minimum wage in some factory, if i was lucky. most of the factories since shut down and moved to mexico since i've been doing this. i quit my last factory job in Oct 98 and thought there had to be a better way to make money and i found it. :glugglug

BlackCrayon, you sure made the right move. Ethics and morals aside, look at it this way:

You're eating, clothed, not in debt, able to pay medical bills.

Rankings 02-03-2004 12:39 PM

i spend no gas money to and from work, i break as i please, and my check is direct deposited, porn is my life

NOW you're seein' my side :)

That alone is a super savings! Very good point! You're helping out the economy, the ecology and preventing traffic congestion all in one shot! Don't have to worry about office social bullshit either!!

??? How did this business stop you? It should have given you enough working capital to pursue what you wanted. In my hometown there is the biggest, most prestigious culinary school in the western hemisphere. There are guys there that killed people and got out of jail and are now respected chefs.

I'm sure there are enough GFY'ers here who either own or know people who own fine restaurants.

One thing about being a master chef is just start cooking. Word will spread so fast it'll make your head swim. You don't need a huge restaurant either. I remember a guy who made a cornbread dressing. His shop was the size of a small store. People FLEW into town just to have some of his dressing. Celebrities FLEW in to have some. He was never out of business. Treated like a king wherever he went.

hova 07-03-2006 08:54 AM

It made it easier for me to the things I want to do, but I'm sure I would have gotten to do it anyway.....but I would have had to wait

fallenmuffin 07-03-2006 08:58 AM

I'd probably still be freelancing busting me ass for very low income or worse... I'd have a full time low low entry job making shit income. However porn has really saved my ass in the income part of things. It's also given me the drive needed to obtain some things that i've been lacking (i.e. license, car, apartment of my own)... It's funny I hated the whole porn lifestyle thing (everyone you see is just so fucking tacty) but it's really given me alot. Stable income and the ability to do things I couldn't before.

I'm only 9 month into it... :) alot more to do and make.

Minte 07-03-2006 09:01 AM

It probably saved my life.. Golf used to me my main hobby.
It's the devils game and odds are I would've either had a stroke or a heart attack on the course.

BINGO. This happened to me. I was the Network Admin for a F500 company that let go the entire IT one fine friday morning with no warning. Send most of us into bankrupcy including myself. Since Multiple LARGE companies in my area did the same thing at the same time, there where hunderds of IT guys all looking for work at the same time... no jobs.

Scroto 07-03-2006 09:28 AM

9-5? pfffft

not making enough yet, so, its 7-5 for moi till then :(

BlackCrayon 07-03-2006 09:29 AM

i was hating work and hating life because all i did was work for shit wages and shit hours. quit my job and thought there had to be a better way, then found the money that could be made in online adult sites. haven't worked a day for someone else since.
